Hey, Chick! for FabFri105

The FabFriday sketch that kicks off today gave me just what I needed to play around with several new items from Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-Bration brochure.  I combined the Little Cuties stamp set (Occasions) with the Hey Chick stamp set (Sale-a-Bration) and accented them with a piece of Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack and the Cupcakes & Carousels Embellishments Kit.  All together, they helped me make a super-sweet card.  Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Sweet Chick.  There are some real winners in Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Occasions Catalogs – those items that everyone knows they have to have right out of the gate.  Beautiful You stamp set and the Special Reason Bundle immediately come to mind.  There are some great sets and bundles, though, that are getting overlooked – but you need them just as much.  🙂  As of late, I’ve been focusing my time and energy on some of the products in the 2017 Occasions Catalog that haven’t been getting a lot of attention.  I shared a card with Timeless Tags Framelits earlier this week (you can see it here).  Today, I’m featured Hey, Chick (a Sale-a-Bration stamp set you can select with a $50 purchase) and the overlooked, but oh-so-adorable Little Cuties stamp set.  Sweet, cute animals – and either the horse or lamb can easily fit on the rockers.

  • That Bow!  Last week, I shared a project with the Cupcakes & Carousels Embellishment Kit for a decorated gift box (if you missed that project, you can see it here).  It’s so easy to use these fun embellishments – and the colors pair perfectly with the Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack, which I used on today’s project for the large circle.  I simply added a So Saffron enamel dot to the center of the bow for a quick-and-easy and oh-so-sweet addition.  There’s a great variety of products in this great kit – ribbon, bow and tassels – oh, my!Cupcakes & Carousels Embellishment Kit, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Spring Colors.  While I colored my chick with a light amount of Daffodil Delight from the Watercolor Pencils, he looks adorable against the So Saffron and Very Vanilla backdrop, don’t you think?  I wanted to add another color and knew I wanted to add the Pool Party bow from the embellishment kit, so I added a Pool Party base to pull it all together.  Basic Gray makes these soft shades so rich.  If you like this combination of colors, please save this:Stampin' Up!
