I’m so glad you liked yesterday’s Everyday Hero project for the Global Design Project and Freshly Made Sketches. If you missed that project, you can see it here. It was a fun card to make – especially with all the inspiration from these challenges. Today’s project follows the same path as yesterday’s – it was inspired by both challenges. Because the Freshly Made Sketches challenge has closed, I’m only sharing it on the Global Design Project site. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Perfect Mix. What a fun stamp set – I adore the fun images and the retro vibe! These images and coordinating sentiments don’t even need to be dressed up – you could stamp them on a white card and be done. If you are a baker, then these stamps are a must. Think of how fun these would be on a quick-and-simple tag with the delivery of baked goods. How cute is this set? I used the measuring cups, mixer and cheese grater on a trio of Valentine-themed cards earlier this year (you can see that here), while today’s project showcases this fun set outside of Valentine’s Day. Here’s a look at the other images and sentiments in this set:
- Not Too Bold. I knew from the start that I’d feature the oven mitt and spatula on the Crumb Cake panel on this card. I originally stamped them in Basic Gray, showcasing these images in a severe, bold way. The images were so dark that they detracted from the focal image, the bowl of (pudding, is it?). That wasn’t the look I was going for, so I re-cut the panel and stamped the images again with Crumb Cake. Stamping with a color of ink on that same color of paper gives a beautiful texture to the paper. I was very happy with this treatment – allowed me to stamp my focal sentiment right on the Crumb Cake panel.

- Sweet Colors. I just love the colors in this card. I was originally going to use a subtle panel of the Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Series Paper, but it proved to be too busy for this card. Still, I was inspired by the colors. The large panel of Crumb Cake really tones down the orangy-ness of Peekaboo Peach and allows the Pool Party to play. If you like these colors, too, please save this:

I hope you’ll pop over to the Global Design Project site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!

This is an awesome card and great way to use this stamp set Brian. How exciting to have you play along again. Thank you!
Fabulous job as always Brian. This is such a fun set and your background stamping is perfect.
You really know how to “mix it up” with these cute stamp sets.
It is grate, oops that is another stamp in the set which measures up.
Great card Brian. My mother loved to bake, cakes, pies and cookies etc, and this would have been perfect for her. I really love the colors that you chose.
Another fun card from you Brian. I finally caved and ordered this set yesterday! Thanks for joining us at Global Design Project this week, lol
Great stamp set for a my family and friends that live to bake!
Love the card Brian, but a question. How did you do the mixing bowl? Is it just stamped on whisper white and coloured with markers? Or stamped 3x on each colour of cardstock and cut out and pieced together? It really stands out. I haven’t gotten this set yet, but you’re pushing me towards it
Thanks, Pam! I stamped the bowl on all three colors of cardstock and snipped out the images. Each one was individually easy enough to quickly snip (and the lines are bold enough to not have to get it perfect). 🙂
Love the Color Combo!
I love this card. Even when you’re CASEing someone your cards are always so simple and stunning. Love the multi-colored mixing bowl/spoon/batter combo.
Oh Brian, this card is simply amazing. This color combo is stunning! PERFECTION!
Such a cute card and your colour combo is divine x
This is sooooo durable….and I love the colors!
