All Things Thanks for GDP

This week at the Global Design Project, we are celebrating everything grateful.  In fact, that’s the theme challenge this week – grateful.  For those of us in the United States, it’s so easy to create gorgeous cards that celebrate Thanksgiving and Autumn, but thank you cards are for all seasons.  Here’s my card for this week’s challenge:

  • All Things Thanks.  If you are in the mood for some great “thank you” sentiments, Stampin’ Up!’s All Things Thanks stamp set is right up your alley.  I used this set multiple times this weekend and will be sharing the other projects during the week.  For today’s project, I masked the “THANKS” from “THANKS FOR THAT THING YOU DID” and added “YOU’RE THE BEST” from another sentiment in the set.  Together, they are a perfect pair!  Here’s a look at the All Things Thanks stamp set – just check out the variety of sentiments:

  • Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper.  I adore the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper – maybe that’s why I use it so much?   For today’s project, I paired the bold flowers oon the top panel with the tiny zigzags that cover the base of the card.  Together they are perfect, don’t you think?  I added a thin layer of Very Vanilla between the Garden Green border and the Early Espresso base to separate the dark green from the dark brown.  It helps the focal panel to pop. • Colors of Autumn.  I’ve never thought of Daffodil Delight as a Fall color, but it really looks great in the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper.  These flowers (a combination of Daffodil Delight, Garden Green and Early Espresso) are so beautiful – a perfect backdrop for a thank you card.  If you like this combination of colors, too, please save this:Stampin' Up! 1. I just discovered your site a week ado. You work offers a beautiful elegant simplicity. The narrative makes it seems like you are chatting with me across the table. I love that you lay out the color combinations. Finally your approach is like sharing your product, not a hard sell. Thank you.

    • Thank you so much for the kind feedback, Maxine. Your comments make me so happy – because they describe EXACTLY what I’m trying to achieve. 🙂 Thanks so much! I hope you’ll come back each day for more. <3

  2. Stunning!!

  3. Simple cut chic, nice work Brian!

  4. Beautiful use of the sunflower paper and simple design.

  5. We can always use those thank you cards. As always, love your layering Brian!

  6. I just am absolutely in love with this stamp set and DSP. Aren’t the colors absolutely awesome? The answer would be Yes! Great card Brian and you are right – you can never have too many thank you cards on hand. Whenever I send one out the response I get is “it’s been years since I received a thank you card!”. I guess the electronic age now handles thank yous a lot via email, twitter, text, etc. I’m sticking with hand made cards and I think people are happy to receive them. The card you made today is absolutely gorgeous (as always)! Thanks for sharing Brian.

    • Thanks so much, Grace! I’m in love with this paper and loving it more and more as I use it. I’m always beating myself up for not sending enough thank you cards – yet I know how special they are to receive. Thanks for the reminder! <3

  7. Brian I have a lot of thank you stamps and love getting new ones because we really have countless things to be thankful for. With that said, I too don’t send enough THANK YOU CARDS! Thanks Brian for the reminder, with this lovely card.

  8. The background shades of brown truly makes the yellow of those sunflowers pop. I think the sentiment works so well with the autumnal feel of your card. Beautiful job Brian

  9. Simple and spectacular at once. Brilliant!

  10. Love the theme, the color combination, the stamps. A winner all around!

  13. This is such a great card, yet is made so simply!! I’m going to pin it to my Decorative Paper board! I’m trying to stop hoarding it so much! LOL!
