A wonderful birthday card can celebrate and uplift at the same time. The colors and patterns in the Picture Perfect 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Stack are a great starting point for a festive birthday card, but the perfect sentiment is the icing in the cake. I love everything about this combination of color and pairing of sentiments:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- The Perfect Sentiment. “Happy Birthday” is a comment sentiment – you can find it in lots of stamp sets, but I love the tall, thin font used in the Perennial Birthday stamp set – it’s modern and fresh and fun. I stamped the initial part of this two-part greeting in Berry Burst to tie with the base of the card. Here’s a look at the sentiments in Perennial Birthday:
I couldn’t love the second half of this sentiment – “you deserve every good thing” – more than I already do. Is there anything more you want to say when you are supporting or encouraging someone else? I love it! There are lots of great sentiments in this stamp set. Here’s a look at the “tag-on” sentiments in Amazing Congratulations:
- A Festive Balloon. Did you notice the Lemon Lime Twist striped balloon on my card? We all know where I punched the shape (it’s the small balloon from the Balloon Bouquet punch), but did you recognize the pattern? The pattern comes from the big, striped heart in Heart Happiness stamp set. From the stamped image, I could punch the large or small balloon, but the small balloon worked best with this design. Fun find! I paired the Lemon Lime Twist balloon with a Berry Burst balloon – fun! The balloon strings are magically invisible here (in case you were wondering).

- Color Combination. I pulled the colors for this card from the Picture Perfect Party 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper – such a fun combination! If you like this combo of Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst and Basic Black as much as I do, please save this:

Such a bright and cheery birthday card, Brian!
Love the colors you chose and, of course, the clean lines! The balloons are a great addition (even if they are string-less?).
Thanks, Suzie! I had a lot of fun with this card – glad you like it. AND the balloon are stringed – you just have to use your imagination. <3
Gee, I think I kind of missed the Perennial Birthday stamp set. Nice!
It’s a great set, Dianne, that coordinates with a great kit. Separately, though, it has lots of great sentiments (and you know how much I love my sentiments). π
Great card all the way around. I love your color choices and layout. This dsp pack is so bright and colorful and so versatile. Itβs perfect for so many occasions. Awesome job Brian.
Thanks so much, Robbye! I adore this paper – it inspires me so much. Glad you like it, too.
simple and clean – your signature, BK!
Thanks so much, Mary! Had a lot of fun with this one.
I will have to give the balloon punch a second look. That would be great for masculine cards that I can’t do a flower on. Thanks!
It’s a great punch – can be used with so many colors and patterns! You’ll definitely want to add this punch to your collection. π
Super layering! Great color combo.
Thanks so much, Katrina! I couldn’t love these colors more.
It makes me feel happy just looking at it. Great job.
Yay! That’s what I was going for. π So glad you like it, Liz! <3
Striking color combo! Canβt wait to use it on a card. Thanks!!
I pulled it right from the paper – might not have ever, otherwise, combined this rich pink with this pale green, but I love it too! Thanks, Christina! <3
Bright and happy like a birthday should be!
π Thanks, Linda! No time for solemn birthday colors – <3 Glad you like it.
