One of the most Spring-related and Easter-themed stamp sets in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Occasions Catalog is You’re Inspiring, a stamp set that features images of daffodils with some great, versatile sentiments. While the set is showcased with the Stampin’ Blends in the Occasions Catalog, the flowers are beautiful when colored in other ways – or not at all. I chose the latter way to showcase these flowers today. Here’s my card:
- You’re Inspiring. I know I keep reminding you that were are experiencing unusual Spring weather in Atlanta – I’m really not trying to rub it in. If I had my druthers, it would stay cold for another several weeks. Anyhow, with the 80 degree weather, it’s hard to not focus on flowers and Spring-themed cards. For this simple card, I stamped this row of daffodils on Daffodil Delight (go figure!) with Island Indigo ink. Here’s a look at this Spring-themed stamp set:
I covered the base of the daffodils with a 1/2″ strip of Whisper White and a sentiment from Hanging Garden. What a great set that I’ve used over and over during the last several months. Here’s a look at Hanging Garden:
- The Perfect Accent. There’s a lot of yellow on this card – that’s not always a bad thing, but I wanted to tone it down a little bit. The 1/2″ white strip across the base of these flowers breaks up the yellow on this card just a tad. I stamped the sentiment in Island Indigo, positioning the sentiment on the right side of the base of the image. Before I glued everything down, I searched and searched to find SOMETHING to add to the band to balance things out a bit. That’s when I was happy I have a small stash of Enamel Shapes.
This heart from the Regals Enamel Shapes gave me the perfect accent – the enamel shapes sent lots of love to me. <3
- Sympathy Colors. There’s a misnomer that sympathy cards or thinking of you cards need to be dark and dreary to match the mood of the person you are thinking about. I’m totally on board with images and sentiments that are appropriate, but I believe that bright or soft colors can be just as appropriate as rich or neutral colors. If you like this combination of Whisper White, Daffodil Delight and Island Indigo, please save this:

Beautiful bouquet! Sensational with Indigo stamped on saffron.
Thank you, Mary! The colors seem to fight each other but work at the same time. Glad you like it. <3
Such a lovely Spring-y card, Brian. The daffodils look great the way you chose to stamp them on the Daffodil Delight.
Thanks so much, Suzie! I am pleased with this color combination – the daffodils are so sweet. Glad you like it. <3
Inspiring card…the blue and yellow really pop together!
Thanks, Windy! I was skeptical that the pairing would work, but I’m happy with it. <3
Yes simple but oh so sweet!
<3 Thanks, Linda!
Love this card. The You’re Inspiring stamp set is one of my favs. I agree about colors for sympathy or thinking of you. Sometimes people need something to brighten the mood!
Thanks for the comments, Dianne! That yellow is such a mood-lifter. 🙂
I just received this set and I need to make a couple cards today. I just might have to CASE this so I can get them in the mail faster than coloring and putzing around with it! Great card and colors are pretty too!
CASE away, Chris! Glad you like it! <3
I’m running out of words to describe your projects Brian. Your color choices work so beautifully together. Love the stamp sets you chose again pairing the sentiment from one with the image from the other worked so well. The weather we’re having has been a welcome change and my fingers are crossed that Spring has just arrived early.
Thanks so much, Robbye! I’m so happy you like it and always look forward to your kind feedback. <3
