Sweet Soirée Embellishment Kit for CTS261

This is my second post today – what an exciting and busy day! If you missed my first project as Guest Designer for the Creating Kindness Blog Hop, you can see it here. What a lot of talent in that hop! I’m honored to have been asked to join them today.

The CAS(E) This Sketch Design Team is having loads of fun with a Retro Sketch today! The original sketch debuted in September 2014. Always the rebel, I turned the portrait-oriented sketch into a landscape-oriented one to showcase some gorgeous, new products. Here’s my card:

CTS261Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Sweet Soirée Embellishment Kit. If you need to crank out a quick-and-easy “wow” card, you should definitely check out the Sweet Soirée Embellishment Kit. The kits is filled with great cutouts and vellum pieces. There are also tassels, clothespins, ribbon and washi tape. While the kit doesn’t expressly include Blushing Bride images, this cake pairs perfectly with the soft pink. I layered some of the flowers behind the cake and added numbers that I punched from the pages in the kit. SO EASY! • A Little Shine, A Little Extra Color. There’s so much wonderful shine on this card – lots of silver foil in this Sweet Soirée Embellishment Kit and the striped Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper that provides a base for the cake and sentiment. It’s so difficult to capture all the incredible shine from these foils in a photograph, but this card is certain to capture your attention if you held it in your hand. Here’s a closer look at all the shine: Sweet Soirée Embellishment Kit, Color Me Happy, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingI stamped the “celebrate” sentiment (from the Color Me Happy limited-time stamp set) along a strip of Pear Pizzazz cardstock. To add a little Pear Pizzazz to the cake, I colored the tops of the numbers (which come half-white and half-silver) with a Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Marker. Helps to balance color on the card and allows the number to pop against the white background of the card.
  • Soft, Sweet Colors. On Tuesday, I shared a simple card with Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and Basic Black. On this card, the Silver Foil invites Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz to the party. I love this combination – so sweet and so formal. If you are inspired by the combination of Blushing Bride, Silver Foil and Pear Pizzazz, please save this: Stampin' Up! 1. Aren’t you coming into March roaring like a lion with two posts and two different cards in the same day!! We’d better prepare for some big excitement ahead with calming to follow later in the month. Very ambitious Brian!

    • 🙂 Thanks, Sharon! The “two-posts-on-one-day” gig was just bad planning on my part. Ha! I’m happy I was able to get both done and to share them both. <3

  2. The foil papers we have are so beautiful they really dress up any card. Smart balance with the touch for color on the numbers.

  3. Such a shining star (the card and YOU)!
