Wishing You Well

Over the past two days, I’ve shared my favorite products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Holiday Catalog. I’ve studied this catalog carefully – what fun to share my picks with you. If you missed those posts, you can see them here:

Today’s card showcases Wishing You Well, a gorgeous stamp set that I love (but that was squeezed off my favorites list because of all the other amazing products. I’ve framed these gorgeous images with beautiful textured papers that are perfect for Fall. Here’s my card:

  • Wishing You Well. I’m excited to introduce you to Wishing You Well, a gorgeous, new Distinktive stamp in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Holiday Catalog. Distinktive stamps allow us to achieve realistic depth and intensity with a single stamp. Here’s a closer look at the Wishing You Well stamp set: Wishing You Well, Stampin' Up! 147864As you can see when you click on the promotional flyer below, Distinktive Stamps create different opacities in a single, stamped image for a gorgeous outcome:
  • Take a Bow! I love this bushel of (what I like to think is) wheat. The stamp set offers some sweet flowers that can be layered into the bouquet – and I don’t think wheat has flowers. Either way, it’s a set that’s as perfect for any time of year as it is for Fall. The wreath and bouquet are lovely, but it’s the BOW that really stands out with the effect of the Distinktive stamp. Just look at how it layers so beautifully. I snipped the bow, flicked the edges a bit for depth and then glued it to the wheat bushel. <3 Wishing You Well, Petal Palette, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Soft Colors. My card started with the Mint Macaron and Crumb Cake images that are perfect on a Very Vanilla backdrop. As I fiddled around, looking for a way to showcase the ovals, I came across my Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper – perfect! 8. Well Brian – you fooled me this time. I try to study the cards you make before I read your explanation just to see if I can figure out how you made them. Well, my first thought for this card was WOW – look at that fabulous bow Brian made. Then I read your post and by golly the bow is stamped. What an amazing set and now I have to take another look at that set. Love the card, it has amazing depth.

  9. Perfect card and layout…right down to the perfect cute bow!

  10. What a lovely card. I agree, this stamp set is easily overlooked but more than worth a second look. And what about that Designer Paper…seems to go with everything!

  11. So pretty ! I LOVE Tranquil Textures dsp and have not gotten THE BOW yet ,but want it and just look how you put them together !
Read someone`s comment that said the bow did not show up well except with dark colors …..guess they were wrong !! Yours is beautiful !!

    • 🙂 Thanks, Sonny! I keep seeing the bow in dark purple, so I wanted something a little different. It does look nice in dark, but I think it looks great in the Soft Mint Macaron. Glad you like it – you’ll enjoy playing with this set. <3

  12. Just love this Brian! Simple & elegant.

  13. Another one of my favorite color combinations. I am thinking this is wheat but not totally sure. Maybe Nicole knows since she lives in Nebraska or do we have someone from Kansas that confirm this? Anyway, doesn’t matter as your card is soft soft with an almost elegant feel. Love how you fussy cut the bow and popped it up a smidge. So, pretty. This set is on my wish list and I might use the $5 coupons to get it. I should have my shares this week so who knows, I might just have to CASE this little beauty with what I have.

    • Yay! I’m so glad you like it, Chris! This is such a lovely set – the sentiments are so sweet, too. I’m just going with wheat – it feels right to me. <3

  14. Brian, I was staring at this set this morning in the catalog for the longest time, trying to decide whether it was going on my wish list or not. You may have convinced me…such a beautiful card! <3

    • 🙂 Thanks, Dawn! Sometimes the layout and samples in the catalog help us to decide, and sometimes we can only see it that way. I’m glad to share a “neutral” look at the set. Thanks for your kind feedback. <3

  15. This stamp set is gorgeous and so is your card! Loving the green!

  16. Brian, I love it !!! Great …

  17. Wow! You’ve created something outstanding, Brian. The softness comes through in the images, the colors and the DSP. Fantastic job.
