Sneak Peek: Believe You Can for FabFri162

The color challenge that goes live today at FabFriday combines 5 colors – two blues and three pinks/reds. That’s more colors than I usually work with, but it was a fun challenge to incorporate all five. It also gave me a chance to play with a new stamp set (Believe You Can) and a new set of dies (Stitched Nested Labels Dies) from Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog. Here’s my card:

And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Poppy Parade, Blushing Bride, Petal Pink, Pool Party, Coastal CabanaTips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Believe You Can. With purchases greater than $150, customers earn Stampin’ Rewards that can be used to purchase ANY current items in the current catalogs. One of the perks of earning Stampin’ Rewards is that you can use them to select exclusive, specially-priced Host Sets that are only able to be redeemed with Stampin’ Rewards. Believe You Can is one of the new Host Sets in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog. Here’s a look: Believe You Can Host Set, Stampin' Up! 149433 Pretty great, huh? What makes this set even more special? The image I used coordinates with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies (more below) AND the sentiment in the banner can be switched for whatever occasion you want to celebrate. What fun! There’s also a wonderful stamp with a quote from Theodore Roosevelt – “Believe you can & you’re halfway there.” Love it!
  • Stitched Nested Labels Dies. Remember when you first fell in love with the Rectangle Stitched Dies that were introduced in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Occasions Catalog (and the love affair that still burns bright)? You’ll feel the same way about the Stitched Nested Labels Dies in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog. What a great shape (with stitching on the inside and outside) that can be used on a variety of projects – layered on alone. Here’s a look at the set of nine dies (eight elongated hexagons and one stitched line): Stitched Nesting Labels Dies, Stampin' Up! 149638Here’s a closer look at the stitched texture in these amazing dies:Stitched Nesting Labels Dies, Stampin' Up! 149638The dies can be purchased alone or as part of a bundle with the Bird Ballad Bundle. No matter how you get them, you’re going to want to have them. Go ahead – put them on that wish list. ♥
  • Colors and Coloring. I used all five of the colors from this week’s FabFriday color challenge to color the flowers, leaves and borders of this stamped image. I balanced the depth of color by applying some of the color with a Blender Pen (for a lighter, textured look) and some of the color with a Stampin’ Write Marker (for a darker, richer look). I enjoy a little coloring every once in a while – it can be relaxing and enjoyable every once in a while. Here’s a closer look at this image (which was finally painted with a little Wink of Stella for a shine that doesn’t create a mess):Believe You Can Host Set, Stitched Nesting Labels Dies, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingI also enjoyed playing with color on this card by creating an ombré effect by switching striped papers under the sentiment – did you see that on the first picture of the card? There’s a subtle difference between this pattern in Pool Party and Coastal Cabana, but the difference is there: Believe You Can Host Set, Stitched Nesting Labels Dies, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Stamp Sets: Believe You Can  Papers: Brights 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (Coastal Cabana), Subtles 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (Pool Party), Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Thick Whisper White  Inks:  Stampin’ Write Markers (Coastal Cabana, Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Blushing Bride, Petal Pink)  Accessories: Stitched Nested Labels Dies, Wink of Stella, Stampin’ Dimensionals
