  3. I know the Holidays are coming when I have to put all my perennial flowers to sleep under leaf mulch and miss there color all winter long. But the leaves that change color help to color the surroundings before they fall.

  31. . . . My chickens are in the hen house before 5 PM. In the summer they wait until 9 PM to call it a day. I have to physically close up the hen house so I am sensitive to their whereabouts. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years follow on their heels with the shorter days.
