You Are So Special with Tasteful Touches

During the past couple of weeks, Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators have been able to order select items from the 2020 Annual Catalog – how fun! There are so many amazing, new products in the new catalog, and I can’t wait for June 3 when we can all order from the entire book. Today’s project features a new bundle from the new catalog and an incredible embossing folder you must have. The new catalog is so special. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Tasteful Touches Bundle. When I saw the Tasteful Touches Bundle was in the Demonstrator Pre-Order options, it went right to the top of my list. The stamp set is lovely, but the coordinating Tasteful Layers Dies are out-of-this-world! I used both on my card. Here’s a look at the Tasteful Touches Bundle:Tasteful Touches Bundle, Stampin Up!, 154098Aren’t those dies amazing?! Each one has a stitched or scalloped or dotted or embossed. I was excited to layer with these dies for this card and am already planning more projects. Here’s a closer look at the Tasteful Layers Dies: Tasteful Labels Dies, Stampin Up!, 152886
  • Texture. I love a little texture on a simple card – it can really make a big difference. After I cropped the Petal Pink cardstock with this gorgeous emblem from the Tasteful Labels Dies, I ran it through my embossing machine with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder. What a gorgeous effect – I de-bossed the panel (where the indentions go in vs out) for the look of crinkled paper. What fun! Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder, Stampin Up! 153200For additional texture on my card, I added a layer of vellum and ran Mossy Meadow Linen thread around the focal panel. Such a wonderful and simple effect.
  • Color Combination. Even though my card features a new suite from the new catalog, the colors were inspired by the Magnolia Lane Suite in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog. I even used the Mossy Meadow linen thread from the retiring Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack on this card. I also added Gray Granite to the gorgeous mix of light pink and rich green for an unexpected twist. If you like this combination of Petal Pink, Gray Granite and Mossy Meadow, please save this for future reference: Stampin Up! Color Inspiration - Petal Pink, Gray Granite, Mossy Meadow

  1. Oh Brian, you are NOT good for my wallet! I had convinced myself that I only needed the stamps, and not the dies. How silly of me!

    • I was “this close” to just getting the dies (and not the stamps), but the 10% off both deal just made me grab them both. Happy to have both. ♥

  2. lovin’ the layers and simple design!

  3. Beautiful card, Brian. I love this color combo and the must-have dies. They are so versatile. Enjoy your day!

  4. I love this set and your beautiful card. You truly amaze me with your talent.

  5. There is that embossing folder again! Just love it!

  6. Love all the texture..the twine really makes the card!

  7. LOVE the embossed label…..BRILLIANT!

  8. I agree those Tasteful Label Dies are great ! They are on my order list for sure ! The Mossy Meadow cord addition is one of those added details that I love on cards ! Plus look at that EF switcheroo !
    Great card !

  9. Love the layers Brian! Stitched dies are just the absolute best, it gives projects added wow! Love the new shapes!

  10. Oh boy – another “to the top of my list” set. Even though this entire card is gorgeous I really think the thread brought out the beauty of the die cut sentiment. All in all another winner. Brian – do you measure the spaces of the thread? The spacing is so very perfect!

    • Thanks, Grace! I rarely use ribbon or twine, but I love the texture in this thread – couldn’t help myself. Here’s my secret – I taped one end of the thread behind the card and then wrapped it around many times, taping the other end behind the card. I then pushed them up or down with my fingertip to get them right where I wanted them. 🙂
