This past weekend was full of great fun and some worthwhile accomplishments! We went to see Mom this weekend – first time we’ve seen her since March. We delivered some furniture to her new house (she moved in May) and brought her home with us for the weekend. I also added a lot of new items to my retired store, so orders were pouring in all day. What fun! If you missed that announcement, CHECK IT OUT HERE. It feels so good to re-home those goodies. I also hosted my first local club since the initial COVID lockdown. No hugs, no close-talking and lots of hand-sanitizing and hand-washing. I guess you could say I had a really great weekend, and I couldn’t be happier. Here’s my card that further pats me on the back for getting things done:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Whale Done. I couldn’t love the Whale Done Bundle more than I do. For starters, it’s a photopolymer-and-punch bundle (cue the cash register ring that tells us it’s a great deal). The images and sentiments are really great. The punch works well on its own, but why would you use it alone when you could have all of these great accessories to go with it. Here’s a look at the Whale Done Bundle:Here’s another card I recently made with the bundle – I stamped the whale from the stamp set for this card and punched it out with the Whale Builder Punch. Here’s a look at that project (you can click on the photo below to see my original post for the project):
- Accessories. All of the components of the Whale Builder Punch come together to make an adorable whale. Here’s a closer look:There are some other accessories that make this card so special – the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper panel in the background, the seaweed from the Smooth Sailing Dies and the large Stitched Shapes circle that serves as a fun backdrop for the sweet whale.
- Color Combination. The Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper is filled to the brim with beautiful greens and aquas. I knew my whale would be Pretty Peacock, so I looked for a pattern of paper that would give a fun, water-like backdrop. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper: While the panel I used features Pretty Peacock and Pear Pizzazz, I pulled Pretty Peacock and Soft Sea Foam from the colors in the paper and added a little Pool Party to complete the trio. If you like the combination of Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party and Pretty Peacock as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
Bundles: Whale Done Stamp Sets: Whale Done Papers: Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper, Pretty Peacock, Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party, Thick Whisper White Inks: Pretty Peacock Accessories: Smooth Sailing Dies, Stitched Shapes Dies, Whale Builder Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you like my card – it was certainly fun to make. I’m happy I can share it with you.
