Sheltering You with Love

When words can’t express the love we have for someone who is going through hard times, a handmade card can often let them know how much you care (you might still have to write a few words inside or offer them a hug, too, but the card is really important). The thinking of you card I’m sharing with you today features a bundle from Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog and the Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper from the August-September Sale-a-Bration brochure. That’s right – I created a thinking of you card with a Christmas-themed Designer Series paper. Here’s my card:

While the reindeer and snowflake patterns are perfect for Christmas (all of pages are perfect for Christmas), many of the pages can be used after Christmas is long gone. I love this page of Sahara Sand plaid – it provided a beautiful backdrop for my leaf-less trees.

The trees and sentiment on my card are from the Inspired Thoughts Bundle, a new bundle in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog. With the dies, you can add leaves to the trees (or bundle them at the base of the trees) – and I LOOOVE the variety of sentiments in this amazing stamp set. I didn’t capture all of the gorgeous branches on the die-cut trees because I really wanted to showcase the plaid Sahara Sand pattern. To get a clean cut on the edges of the trees, I added a piece of Adhesive Sheet to the Sahara Sand cardstock before cutting out the trees. Here’s a look at the trees before I snipped the branches around the edges of the Basic White cardstock:

Can you imagine the detailed gluing I’d have to do if the adhesive wasn’t already on the back of each and every branch?! Here’s a look at the Adhesive Sheets that help me out so much:

The sentiment on my card is heat-embossed with white Stampin’ Emboss powder on Night of Navy cardstock and cropped with one of my favorite shapes from the Tasteful Labels Dies – the rounded edges of the die play well with the jagged edges of the trees and sharp lines of the papers.
