I Appreciate You with Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper

The card I’m sharing with you today combines three of my favorite things – gorgeous Designer Series Paper, a beautiful In Color and a perfect sentiment. The simple design features 5 base layers and two additional layers for the sentiment, and every layer is important to the overall appeal of the card. Here’s my card:

I love Designer Series Papers, but I always hold a special place in my heart for brilliant black-and-white papers. When Stampin’ Up! introduced the Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper in March’s Online Exclusives launch, I was immediately in love. The papers are PERFECT on their own, but they can easily be transformed with a little ink. Here’s a look at the colors and textures in the Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper:

Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 165545 Two of the pages in this must-have pack showcase tiny, intricate leaves in the same design – one has a black background with white leaves (bottom, left of the product showcase above) and one has a white background with black leaves (fifth on the bottom row of the product showcase above). I added Summer Splash to the white design with a Blending Brush. Here’s a closer look:

The card is a non-standard size – I cut 1/4″ off the side of the card (because I can), yielding a 4″ x 11″ card base (scored at 5-1/2″). Here are the measurements for the multiple layers on my card (starting with the base and working up to the sentiment):

  • Basic Black – 4″ x 11″ (scored at 5-1/2″)
  • Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper – 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Summer Splash – 3″ x 4-1/2″
  • Basic Black – 2-7/8″ x 4-3/8″
  • Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper – 2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Summer Splash – 2-1/2″ x 1/2″
  • Basic Black – 2-1/2″ x 1/2″

The perfect sentiment is pulled from the Tags of Thanks stamp set, part of the new Tags of Thanks Bundle. Here’s a look at this new bundle, which should be on your wish list (if it isn’t already there):

  1. Summer Splash yum factor! Really dials up the black and white!

  2. Beautiful! This is a brilliant way to add color to the black & white paper. It all came together in a really lovely final design.

  3. Brian, this is simply stunning! Love it!

  4. I’m a total black-&-white person (if you saw my “wardrobe” you’d have no doubt of my preferences), but I love the blast of color every time you color black and white DSP. And LAYERS? ~ another of my weaknesses!
    This card? Total swoon. ♥️

  5. I love this beautiful card, Brian, with all the layers and the touch of Summer Splash to brighten it. Very fresh! Enjoy your day!
