Paper Pumpkin Alternatives – Daisy Daydream (Part 2)

Yesterday I shared two of the projects I created for the monthly Zoom call I host with my Paper Pumpkin customers. If you missed that post, CLICK HERE. Today I’m sharing another project I shared during the call – this has more elements outside of the kit than the others, so I’m spotlighting it with its very own post.

March’s Daisy Daydream kit features a beautiful collection of flowers (you guessed it … daisies) that are perfect for Spring. I love the designs of the cards in the kit, but the individual elements are so much more fun. I couldn’t help but to make alternative projects with these products. Who doesn’t love to play?!

Oh, Happy Day!

If I ever have a chance to color on a beautiful piece of Designer Series Paper, you’d better believe I’m going to do it! The card I’m sharing today took several iterations while I was preparing for my Pumpkin in the Fungeon call – and each pass [unintentionally] got further from the elements of the kit. My first version included a sentiment and circle from the kit, but I chopped that up and changed things around a bit to make this card:

I colored the white spaces around the leaves with my Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blends. They are so smooth and really help the leaves to pop. I considered coloring the white leaves but decided to leave them alone.

Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper:

LOVE! The black that surrounds the sentiment just blends right in with the the black circle (but can also pop against other backgrounds). Here’s a look at the Greetings for All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack:

Greetings for All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack, Stampin' Up!, 164862I popped up the sweet bee with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and mounted the design on a Lost Lagoon card base that was included in the Daisy Daydream kit. I added three black dots from the Neutral Matte Dots to my card – one is just below the circle, but the other two are lost in the darkness above the “oh” (you can definitely see them in person, but they fade into the background in the photo). The black elements in the paper and circle and sentiment add such drama over the soft card base and colored background.

Here’s a quick look at all three of the Daisy Daydream card I shared with you today and yesterday. If you want a closer look at the other two cards, CLICK HERE.

  1. I absolutely love how you transformed this black and white DSP with Lemon Lolly!

  2. I agree with Mary. The black and white with yellow is stunning! Enjoy your day!

    • Thanks so much, Hilda! I have done this before with Pool Party, but I really loved how the Lemon Lolly marker played with the black-and-white pattern. So glad you like it. ♥
