Paper Pumpkin Alternatives – Inked Occasions (part 2)

Yesterday I shared two projects with elements of April’s Inked Occasions Paper Pumpkin Kit. If you missed that post, you can see those projects here. Today I’m sharing two more projects I made for our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call, a call I host with my Paper Pumpkin subscribers. During our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call, I share some fun ideas with the items included in the monthly kit, and my customers share their brilliant ideas. I’m always impressed by what others are making and love to spend that time with my customers who participate. I made a little boo boo with the scheduling for this call, so I’m hosting another call next weekend – always such fun!

Alternative Projects

While I really like the kit’s cards as designed, I always like to play with the contents of the kit to make something a little different. The projects I’m sharing with you today showcase one of the GORGEOUS card bases to create two cards. Here’s a look at the card base I used to create my cards:

card base from April 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit, Inked Occasions, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingThe panel is primarily designed with Berry Burst, Peach Pie and Gorgeous Grape inks in a fluid design that appears to be created with alcohol inks. I snipped down the center of the card base (horizontally through the white space) and then flipped and matched the images to build these gatefold cards:

One of the cards is designed with a Berry Burst base and Gorgeous Grape layers, while the other card is designed with a Gorgeous Grape base and Berry Burst layers. There are enough layers on the card front to keep the card closed (no need for a belly band).

The sentiment is attached to the left panel (and only the left panel) with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Here’s how the card opens up:

Let’s talk about this GORGEOUS sentiment, can we? The “Thinking of you” sentiment is pulled from the stamp set that coordinates with the April Paper Pumpkin Kit. Here’s a look at this set that has made its way into my permanent stamp collection:
