Yesterday I shared two alternative projects I made with Stampin’ Up!’s Sweeter with You Paper Pumpkin Kit (July 2025). If you missed those project, I hope you’ll check them out here. Before I share today’s card (also with July’s kit), here’s a look at the finished projects from the Sweeter with You Paper Pumpkin Kit:
All four of the designs are great as-is, but it’s always fun to play with the elements to make alternative projects. The card I am sharing today features the card base shown at the bottom, left corner of the image above, a plaid pattern created with Strawberry Slush and Timid Tiger stripes. It’s a lovely pattern, but I wanted something different, so I changed it up a bit. Here’s my card:
I used the paint tip of a Light Timid Tiger Stampin’ Blend to draw vertical lines along the left side of the Timid Tiger stripes and the fine tip of a Light Strawberry Slush Stampin’ Blend to draw horizontal lines along the top side of the Strawberry Slush stripes. Again, the panel has great charm, but I created a new, graphic look with the added stripes.
I stamped “Hello, Friend” from the kit’s stamp set with Strawberry Slush ink inside a coordinating, punched element. I layered four strawberries on my card so they’d pop out from behind the sentiment when it was popped that up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added three flowers (also punch outs from the kit) for additional pizzazz on the card.
I love to stamp, color and alter Designer Series Papers (or, in this case, the card base for projects in a Paper Pumpkin Kit). Adding those stripes made a big difference – didn’t make it better, but it did make it my own. ♥

Wow! I loved the gentle plaid as it came in the kit, but also love it in its new bold look with the addition of the brighter lines. I will use them both – and may have to think about ordering the refill kit. Thanks for sharing your vision!

Adding the lines gives the card a bit of an Escher effect. My eyes see 3D boxes. Love it!
