I’m excited to play along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge – online challenges always provide great inspiration for the start of a card. I want to give a big “thank you!” to Design Team Member Kim Singdahlsen, who selected my “HI” card as her pick from last week’s gallery. I don’t play to win, but it’s always wonderful to be recognized. If you want to see that project, CLICK HERE.
And now…onto the spooky cuteness!
I’ve been looking for ANY reason to snip out the spooky windows in the Spooky Sweet Specialty Designer Series Paper – this week’s challenge gave me permission to move forward with that desire. Here’s the card I made with these windows and other patterns from this fun pack of papers:
Here’s the sketch from Kim Singdahlsen that inspired my card:

My card offers a spooky peek into three Halloween windows snipped from the Spooky Sweet Specialty Designer Series Paper — such a fun page in a pack that’s filled to the brim with playful and spooky designs!
Each window is framed with a different pattern from the same paper pack, then backed with black and white layers to make each one pop. Here’s a closer look at one of the windows I featured on my card:
So cute, right?! Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Spooky Sweet Specialty Designer Series Paper:
The bold “EEK!” sentiment was cropped with the Fright Night Dies, using a Petunia Pop pattern from the same paper collection. Here’s a closer look at this playful sentiment:
This sentiment is part of the Fright Night Bundle, which is an absolute must-have for Halloween crafting:
To finish off the sentiment, I peppered it with a trio of sparkly, purple stars from the Shimmer Star Foam Stickers, part of the Spooky Sweet Suite Collection – such fun!
All of these spooky-fun elements are mounted on a Basic Black card base and a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ panel from the Weekend Adventures Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the versatile colors and patterns in this paper pack:
Papers: Spooky Sweet Specialty Designer Series Paper, Weekend Adventures Designer Series Paper, Basic Black, Basic White Accessories: Fright Night Dies, Shimmer Star Foam Stickers, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to see the projects created by the Design Team Members and play along with this week’s challenge – you can CLICK HERE to see their projects and those of the other participants.

Very cute card!
Thanks, René! I have had my eye on those windows and was happy they worked so well with this sketch.
EEK! So cute!
Thanks, Dianne! ♥
Yikes!! I absolutely love this! I just ordered this bundle and paper and I can’t wait to play. Your take on the sketch is perfect for a fun and spooky design! May I case? I have a friend who always wants Halloween cards and I bet she’ll want several of these. Great card my friend.
CASE away, my friend! ♥ Thank you so much – I’m happy you like it.
I’m not sure what made me giggle more this morning- your simply adorable card or the fact you needed a reason to snip those windows! That was a grand idea and this card is simply wonderful with its layers and colors and design!
Well, I certainly wasn’t going to snip them without a plan… 🙂 Thanks, Cindie!
I love this card sketch and I don’t think I’ve ever run across it before. I’m going to save it to my arsenal for sure. Cute card!
Thanks so much, Amanda! It’s a fun sketch, isn’t it?!
This is SO fun!! I love the different windows on the different colored paper and the “eek” is the perfect sentiment! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
Thank you so much for the inspiration, Kim! I love the sketch and all of the cards you and the team made. So glad you like my card! ♥
Hi Brian
Love your Halloween card! I especially love how you placed all the windows 🙂
Your card design is very inspiring! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much, Dawn! There was a lot of hemming and hawing before I settled on this assortment and these layers. So happy you like it. ♥
