Always Here for You with the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder

Last week I shared a card I made with Stampin’ Up!’s Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder (you can see that card here).  While I loved the embossed panel with its rich, warm colors and used that design on my card, I was intrigued by how the ink bled through to the debossed side, leaving softer colors. In Sunday’s Week in Review post (you can see that here), I showed you the backside of that panel and told you I’d play with the idea. Here’s a card I made with inspiration from this finding:

I added no ink to the side shown above – it’s the ink that bled through from the other side. How fun! I’m going to show you more about this technique, but first…let’s take a look at the products I used in my card:

Here’s a look at the gorgeous, must-have Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder:

Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder, Stampin' Up!, 166145The embossing folder has been VERY popular, making it currently unavailable – but it’s expected to be back in stock the second week of August. If you want to receive an email from Stampin’ Up! when this product (or any other backordered product) returns, simply add your email to the notice on the product page. I’ve found the email responses helpful (as the product usually comes in before the suggested return date.

The sentiment on my card is stamped with the More Messages stamp set and cropped with the coordinating dies. Here’s a look at the More Messages Bundle, which includes a single stamp and a single die:

I embossed a Basic White panel of cardstock with the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder and saturated the embossed page with a mix of yellow Stampin’ Blends (Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lolly and Darling Duckling), brown Stampin’ Blends (Pecan Pie and Crumb Cake), green Stampin’ Blends (Old Olive and Mossy Meadow) and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends. I added more ink than I normally would so the ink would bleed through to the other side. Here’s a look at the front of the panel:
