When I mail out kits or product shares, I like to include an adorable, handmade tag that coordinates with the products I’m sending. If there’s a Designer Series Paper in the mix, I’ll incorporate it. If not, I’ll pull colors or images from the featured products. When I mailed out the goodies for my Joyful Days Memories & More card class, I created a small tag inspired by the colors in the card pack. The packages have been delivered, and the classes will take place next week. Since the recipients have already seen the tags, I’m excited to share them with you today!
Here’s the tag I made to accompany the class kits:
It’s small and quite compact, but there’s a lot packed into this little design — and I’m going to walk you through every detail. For starters, the tag base and the sentiment at its heart are die-cut images from the Abundant Joy Dies, a set of six dies that coordinate with the October, November and December Paper Pumpkin kits. As a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you can pick up these dies for only $12 — such a great deal for a versatile set!
Here’s a look at the Abundant Joy Dies:
I cut the tag base from Cherry Cobbler cardstock and added a band of five 3/8″ cardstock strips across the 1-1/2″ wide tag. With that foundation in place, I added a Basic White JOY die-cut with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and a tiny silver star punched from the Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper using the small star punch in the A Little Cheer Mini Punch Pack.
Here’s a look at the Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper that includes the silver glimmer:
And here’s a look at the A Little Cheery Mini Punch Pack I used to punch the small star:
I finished each tag with a length of Old Olive Baker’s Twine. I love the colors in this tag — they are cheerful and classic for Christmas — but they also pair perfectly with one another. If you’re as smitten with this festive mix of Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso as I am, I hope you’ll save this color combination for future reference:
When I make multiples of a project, I love lining them up for an infinity shot on my desk. These tags were nearly impossible to line up, so I changed course — I gathered them into a pile and held one above the stack to snap this picture for you:
Final Thoughts
These tiny tags were such a joy to make, and I hope they brought a smile to everyone who received a class kit in their mailbox. Simple shapes, rich colors and a touch of sparkle can make even the smallest projects feel special. I hope today’s tag inspires you to create something sweet and festive for your holiday gifts and packages.

Treat from Brian!
Thanks so much, Barbara! I am so glad you like the tags – it’s always fun for me to make them and share them. ♥
Hi Brian
Another extraordinary tag created by you!
It might be small but it’s certainly fabulous! Thanks for detailing all the elements.
Enjoy your weekend!
Thank you, Dawn! I wasn’t sure how this one was going to come together – it was designed in parts – but I’m happy with the finished tag. ♥
This creative little tag is the essence of JOY!
Thank you so much, Mary! ♥
Oh My Goodness. I love your tag. For the last 5 years I have been making tags for a charity that provides gifts for families thru adopting sponsors. ( I’ve probably make close to 5,000 of them in this time period).
I’m always seeking out new ideas so if you don’t mind I will adapt yours for the 2026 Christmas gift giving season (2025 is done). Nothing can stick out from the tags but making them wider is not a problem.
Thanks for the great idea & Merry Christmas
