I already warned you that the Fungeon is overflowing with square projects. I’ve been completely immersed in papers that feature squares and products built around them, so it probably comes as no surprise that I have yet another square-inspired project to share with you today.
This card features three square panels from the Square Snippets Designer Series Paper, along with a few carefully chosen layers that make it feel extra special.
Here’s the card I made to share with you today:
While the other cards I’ve shared recently have leaned toward happy occasions – Valentine’s Day cards and a friendly hello – this one takes a softer turn. The sweet sympathy sentiment is paired with a gorgeous backdrop of calming blue squares.
The Papers
My card features two blue panels pulled from the pages of 3″ squares, trimmed down to 2-3/4″ squares. They’re close enough in pattern that you might not even notice they’re different at first glance. Maybe? The focal square is trimmed to 2-1/4″, turned on its side to create a lovely diamond, and showcases a burst of blue flowers that coordinates beautifully with the panels behind it.
Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Square Snippets Designer Series Paper:
This pack includes four each of three double-sided designs, and I love that about it! If you’d like to flip through the pages and see the patterns up close, click on the image above.
The Sentiment
I’ve shared several projects using the Fabulous Sayings stamp set – a stamp set you can purchase for only $5 with a $75 purchase this month. While the beautifully scripted sentiments are wonderful, I wanted to shine a light on the printed sayings as well. The one featured on today’s card is truly lovely and perfect for sympathy projects.
Here’s a look at the Fabulous Sayings stamp set, this month’s Product of the Month:
For the background, I layered the two squares with a single piece of Night of Navy cardstock, allowing them to overlap slightly. To switch things up, I layered the floral diamond with both Night of Navy and Petal Pink. Lovely, right? That extra layer really elevates the focal panel. I finished the card with three Petal Pink Muted Palette Dots for an added touch of softness.
Here’s a closer look at the focal diamond and the beautiful sentiment:

Last Thoughts
Squares don’t always have to feel bold or graphic. With the right patterns and colors, they can be soft, comforting, and perfectly suited for heartfelt cards like this one. This layout would be easy to adapt for other sentiments, too – simply swap the focal square and greeting to suit the occasion.
Oh, and I’ve got another card with this paper to share with you next week – you don’t want to miss that one. ♥

Hi Brian
That’s a nice soft sympathy card, built from the square snippets. I might have to add this DSP to my list to order
I received my shares ( yeah) yesterday so I’ll have to see which of your cards I can create
I absolutely love your tag and I’ll give more details when you feature your infinity picture!
Thank you so much, Dawn! Sometimes simpler is better. I’m so happy you received your shares and hope you are already having fun with them!

There are times we’d like to send a card, but don’t know what to say. This card says it all! Very nice Brian.
Thank you so much, Barbara! I think that’s what I love so much about this sentiment – and that it’s a plain font, allowing the beautiful card to do the speaking. All the best!
I love the mix of blue and pink for a soft, sweet card. The little gems are the perfect addition. Enjoy your day!
Thank you so much, Hilda! I knew I wanted the gray background and blue borders. I knew I needed SOMETHING to change things up a bit – the Petal Pink was just what I needed. Glad you agree! ♥
Ah, this. So unexpected, so pretty.
Thank you, Cindie! ♥
