Brian’s Week in Review: January 18, 2026

Brian's Week in ReviewWelcome to my Week in Review! Each Sunday, I like to share a quick recap for those who don’t follow along every day—and a little extra behind-the-scenes for those who do. You don’t want to miss these extras! ♥

Back in Stock

Several products from the January releases were quick to go on backorder, but many of them will be back over the next couple of weeks. If you missed adding the Lovely Arrangements Bundle to your first order last week, it’s back in stock now!

This Week

It’s been another busy week (and I love that!). I’ve started receiving messages from the recipients of my shares and participants in the latest Super-Awesome Fun Time Card Kit to let me know how much they love them. It always makes me so happy – and energizes me to do even more. As such, and with a little nudging from some of my favorite people, I’ll be hosting a new online card class – details will be posted this week. Be on the lookout! ♥

Shared Beauties

I love to see what people are making, and several of my customers are consistent about sharing what they’ve made with the products they just received or with projects from my blog that have inspired them. I love it so much! Here are two text messages I received this week from two of my favorite people:

Jan Riquier

Jan makes multiples of every project she makes and is often quick to send me her takes on cards I’ve made on my blog. She tells me how inspired she is by what I make, and I feel the same about what she makes. So, there!

Here are a few cards Jan made with the Love Notes 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Papers:

Barbara is a regular in my monthly Pumpkin in the Fungeon calls and consistently makes many alternative projects with the products in the kits. We joke with Barbara about how she cranks out so many cards in such a short time – and every one is a gem. 🙂

This week, Barbara shared some of the cards she made with the Butterfly Garden Kit (new in January). They mostly follow the design in the kit, but Barbara added them to coordinating cardstock bases. How beautiful are these?

Back to My Week in Review

Here’s a look at the projects I shared with you this week (don’t miss the bonus add-ins) …

Monday

On Monday I shared a patchwork card I made with the Made with Love Designer Series Paper. I started with the sentiment panel and worked my way around the card, building panels that worked with the rest of the card. Here’s the card I shared with you on Monday:

Tuesday

The patchwork card inspiration continued on Tuesday. I shared another card – but this time with the Beach Boardwalk Designer Series Paper and a little flip-flop of some of the panels. Here’s the card I made to share with you on Tuesday:

Wednesday

On Tuesday night, I hosted a Facebook Live for my InKing Royalty Team. Along with a review of the current promotions and celebrating team accomplishments, I made five Valentine’s Day cards with the super-cute Love Notes 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:

Thursday

I received wonderfully kind comments and feedback about Wednesday’s cards, which inspired me to make another card with the Love Notes 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper to share with you. Here’s the card I shared with you on Thursday:

Love Notes Designer Series Paper Valentine Card, Stampin' Up! Brian KingNo stamps, no inks, no dies. Just some gorgeous papers and a few shiny accents. I could have made 100 cards with the Love Notes Papers, but I have so many other things to play with, so…

Friday

Wednesday’s projects kicked off a series of posts with squares (and there are more to come!). Here’s the card I shared with you on Thursday with two designs from the Square Snippets Designer Series Paper:

Bonus. Our craft rooms are filled to the brim with Designer Series Paper and yet we like to save as much as we can and use the scraps as best possible. Before I glued all of the elements together on my card, I cropped the circle from a part of the Pretty in Pink paper that I knew would be covered by the other elements. Look at me – thinking ahead so I can save my paper…

Saturday

As if those squares were not enough (and they were not…), I made another card with the Square Snippets Designer Series Paper to share with you yesterday. This time, I pulled subtle patterns for a sympathy card that says so much with so little. Here’s the card I shared with you yesterday:

Fabulous Sayings, Square Snippets Designer Series Paper, Joyful Squares Dies, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, simple sympathy cardMy card features three squares from the Square Snippets Designer Series Paper and a sentiment from the Fabulous Sayings stamp set. This set is available in January for just $5 with a $75 order (before shipping and taxes) – and it’s worth every penny. Don’t miss this one!

  1. Putting together the Butterfly Garden kits were a fun afternoon! I cut each card in half and trimmed to fit the front of the cardstock. I used Timid Tiger, Flirty Flamingo and Misty Moonlight. Then I cut the remaining back piece of each card
To b5” x3-3/4” and placed inside the cardstock with the pastel side up for extra interest. Before gluing I stamped small butterfly in left corner and again on
The envelope. These cards were fun to make! Love the included stamp set!
Thank you Brian for sharing my fun cards! If you haven’t tried a card kit recently,
    give this one a try!

    • It’s been a wonderful week, Dawn. I’m so glad you liked Jan and Barbara’s cards. There are a lot of beautiful papers in the shares – I’m sorry that you have to make sympathy cards, but don’t pass on some of the beautiful papers I sent you. ❤️

  3. To both Jan and Barbara- nice work on those cards! This week on your blog was an inspirational one, for sure! Can’t wait to see what card class you will offer… ☺️
