An Incredible Journey: Alaska, Friendships and Unforgettable Memories

I have thoroughly enjoyed every stop along my Stampin’ Up! journey. Over the years, I’ve attended many events, and Stampin’ Up! has always done an incredible job of recognizing demonstrators and making us feel truly special. Their attention to detail is second to none.

I recently returned from this year’s Incentive Trip*, an Alaskan cruise that exceeded every expectation. For so many reasons, this was a trip I’ll never forget. We were treated to an all-expenses-paid trip for two, which means we were able to share the experience with another special person in our lives. The trip included 277 demonstrators from around the world, each traveling with a spouse, child, parent or friend. I couldn’t have been happier to share this experience with Jeremiah.

Today I’m sharing a few photos from this incredible adventure. During our week-long journey, we visited:

  • Seattle, Washington
  • Sitka, Alaska
  • Skagway, Alaska
  • Endicott Arm & Dawes Glacier
  • Juneau, Alaska
  • Victoria, British Columbia

Bundle Up – We’re Headed to Alaska!

I shared a few photos from Seattle and Snoqualmie Falls in Sunday’s Week in Review (CLICK HERE to see those pictures). Today, I’m taking you along for the Alaska and Victoria portions of the trip. Most of these are selfies, but I think you’ll recognize plenty of familiar smiles.

I am all smiles whenever Susan and Lance Nygaard walk into a room. I absolutely adore these two!

She’s smart, funny and somehow manages to be even more petite in person. I’m not sure why she asked me to stand behind her for this photo, but who am I to argue?

Brian King and Patty Bennett, Stampin' Up!'s 2026 Alaska Incentive TripI don’t know these two from ’80s Night, but I was told they are Kylie and Bruno Bertucci. One of these things is not like the other. Any guesses?

Off-the-Boat Excursions

While some trip participants opted for helicopter rides and kayak adventures away from the boat, Jeremiah and I preferred relaxing outings that allowed us to soak in Alaska’s breathtaking beauty.

Stampin’ Up! gifted all achievers with tickets aboard the White Pass Scenic Railway in Skagway. The ride carried us through stunning mountain landscapes. While I took countless photos along the way, I especially love this quick snapshot from the side of the train moments before entering a tunnel.

Brian King and Julie Scott, Stampin' Up!'s 2026 Alaska Incentive TripIn Juneau, Jeremiah and I visited a musher camp where dogs are trained for The Iditarod. The dogs were clearly loved and exceptionally well cared for by the camp staff. It may look like they’re running on a hard surface, but the trail was actually wet mud. They were absolutely thrilled to be working together.

If you know Jeremiah, you know heights and rickety bridges aren’t exactly his favorite thing. Still, he bravely crossed for this photo.

Time with Julie and Jackie

I’ve enjoyed spending time with Julie DiMatteo on several Incentive Trips, and this year she brought Jackie Beers as her “plus one” guest. That meant I had two team members on the trip, which made the experience even more special.

One evening, I was delighted to treat Julie and Jackie to dinner at Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant aboard the ship.

We felt quite fancy indeed!

Along the way, we passed many of our stamping friends, prompting our driver to finally ask, “Who are you all?!” 🙂

Last Thoughts

Trips like this are about so much more than beautiful destinations. Yes, Alaska’s glaciers, mountains and wildlife were unforgettable, but the moments I’ll treasure most are the conversations, laughter and friendships shared along the way. I’m incredibly grateful to Stampin’ Up! for creating opportunities like this and thankful for every person who has supported my business and made experiences like this possible. What an incredible journey it has been – and I can’t wait to see where the next adventure leads.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

  10. The photos are lovely and the facial expressions on all the friends bring joy to my heart. The glimpse in to this special trip highlights the wonderful people that you have met over the years and kept as friends. (Tell Jeremiah I think he was brave…and crazy…my stomach was turning just looking at that photo of that gangplank-over-the-gorge, lol)

    • Thanks, Cindie! I forced everyone to smile and be happy to see me – it’s how I operate. 😀 I’m not afraid of heights, but even I though the bridge was too shaky for more than one person at a time. 🙂 It was a lovely gorge, though. 🙂

  11. What an awesome trip! That train ride was one of my favorites when we were there 2 years ago. The countryside was breathtaking! The high tea looked amazing!

  12. What a fabulous trip you had! I did this same trip several years ago and fell in love with Alaska and everywhere we visited. But being on a Stampin’ Up! trip had to make it incredibly fun! I am with Jerimiah on the bridge. I did the one at Grandfather’s mountain and it took me an hour before I could be calm enough to go back across. That was my last suspension bridge walk!

    • Too funny, Susan! It was such a lovely area that I think he decided to just move across. It was really wobbly (even for me), so I didn’t think he’d get across. Large families didn’t have issue with bouncing on the bridge in the middle while getting photos – THAT was crazy to me. The musher camp was GORGEOUS!

  13. Brian my face is smiling big-time at the joyful photos!!! So happy for each of you, working hard really pays off!!! Thank you for sharing.

    • Awww… thank you so much, Katrina! It takes a lot of work to get to the trip, but it’s worth every bit of the effort. We had a great time, and I’m happy to share some of the pictures and tales. ♥

  14. What a fun trip you all had. Thanks for sharing the great photos!

  15. Maryann Boisvert

Brian, thank you for the pictures! I thoroughly enjoyed them! I love tea houses! I want to try a Scotch Egg. Is it tasty? That suspension bridge was something. I share Jerimiah’s fear of heights and, Oh, I can’t imagine walking across that bridge shaking all over the place! Congrats, Jerimiah on crossing the bridge! It was fun to see the picture of you and Lisa Curcio. I’ve seen many of her tutorials on Youtube!

    • Thanks, Maryann! I was so happy to share the photos – I have so many more, but I’ll spare you all. 🙂 That bridge was shakier than I thought it would be, so I’m happy Jeremiah got across. Lisa is wonderful – we spend a lot of time together on the trip. I enjoy her so much. ♥

  16. Victoria Heinecke

I’m so glad you and Jeremiah were able to enjoy such a wonderful adventure. Alaska is so pristine and beautiful.

  17. I love the photos of your trip! I have followed your blog for 10+ years. You are a big inspiration.
I am going to order products from you by the end of this month and moving forward. I have some health issues that limit my card making, but I continue to purchase supplies.

  18. Thrilled to see you enjoyed the cruise! Thanks for sharing all of the wonderful photos. Can’t believe Jeremiah crossed that bridge!
