If there’s even the slightest hint of Christmas in the King house, then Elf is playing. While I’m terrible at quoting most movies, I have an entire collection of Elf quotes committed to memory. If you love Elf as much as I do, then you already know the best way to spread Christmas cheer—singing loud for all to hear!
Today’s card has nothing to do with Elf, but the playful sentiment certainly captures that same Christmas spirit. Even better, it features one of the cutest images imaginable—a stack of woodland animals working together to build a festive Christmas tree. Seriously…does it get any better than that?!
Here’s the card I made to share with you today:
My card features a 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock on which I stamped the stack of woodland friends and colored them with nearly every Stampin’ Blend marker I own. Here’s a closer look at the super-adorable Woodland Wishes stamp set:
While many of the images feature groups of animals already stacked together, the set also includes several individual woodland critters that make it easy to create your own combinations. The sentiments are crisp, cheerful and perfect for a variety of holiday cards, too!
I colored the animals with a mix of brown, gray, blue, red and green Stampin’ Blends. Once I finished, though, something still felt a little unfinished. To help the design feel more complete, I lightly colored the entire triangle shape behind the animals with a Light Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blend. It added just enough soft color to tie everything together without distracting from the adorable image.
I mounted the focal panel onto Soft Sea Foam cardstock before adhering it to a Peaceful Pine card base layered with a plaid pattern from the 2026-2028 In Color Gingham Gallery Designer Series Paper. That classic plaid was the perfect backdrop for my festive pile of woodland cuties.

I sprinkled a handful of Peaceful Pine In Color Dots on my Christmas tree for a little extra shine.
This probably isn’t the Christmas card you’ll choose if you’re making 150 cards for your holiday mailing. But if you have a list of 20 or 25 extra-special people? I think this sweet design would be well worth the coloring time. What do you say?
Last Thoughts
You don’t need an elaborate design to create something memorable. A sweet image, a little coloring and a fun sentiment are all it takes.

Ridiculously, absolutely cute!!! Any secret to share on how you got the blend to look so good on the bigger creatures? Tapping? Rolling? Mine never looks evenly mottled ( which feels like an oxymoron).
