Happy Valentine’s Day Treats with Paper Pumpkin

I’m a Paper Pumpkin subscriber.  Every month, a little box of goodies is delivered.  Sometimes I use the pieces-parts to create a project of my own, but I often enjoy making the projects just like they are showcased in the monthly kit.  The January kit gave me EXACTLY what I needed to make sweet Valentine’s Day gifts for my coworkers. I made these little bags that hold a handful of Hershey’s Kisses with the supplies…

So Happy for You GDP073

Three bright, cheery colors.  You wouldn’t think it would be difficult to make a card with Daffodil Delight, Emerald Envy and Watermelon Wonder.  Maybe it’s not.  Perhaps I over-thought this challenge?  There’s a chance I couldn’t stop thinking of stoplights or Christmas trees.  Either way, I’m thrilled with the card I came up with for this week’s Global Design Project challenge.  Here’s my card: And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:Tips,…

Paisleys & Posies for CTS206

When new products arrive, we tend to see them in the season they showcase.  The Paisleys & Posies stamp set premiered in the 2016 Holiday Catalog with rich, festive Fall colors.  Since this stamp set is still available, I thought I’d showcase it with fresh, spring colors and a Valentine’s Day twist.  Here’s my fresh retake on Paisleys & Posies: And here’s the sketch from Michele Ferguson that inspired my card: Tips, Tricks and Reminders…

Love You Lots for FMS273

I adore Karren Johnson’s sketch for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  Before sitting down to create my project, I must have designed 15 cards with this layout – all of them were in my head.  The idea that made it to paper showcases Love You Lots, a Hostess Stamp Set in Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Annual Catalog.  Here’s my card: And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:Tips, Tricks and Reminders Love…

Hey, Chick! for FabFri105

The FabFriday sketch that kicks off today gave me just what I needed to play around with several new items from Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-Bration brochure.  I combined the Little Cuties stamp set (Occasions) with the Hey Chick stamp set (Sale-a-Bration) and accented them with a piece of Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack and the Cupcakes & Carousels Embellishments Kit.  All together, they helped me make a super-sweet card.  Here’s…

Color Inspiration for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.  You have all the papers and inks you need, so I’m going to offer some suggestions for color combinations that are very “Valentinesy.”  As you know, I’m a huge proponent of stepping away from traditional colors – I like to use non-green-and-red combinations at Christmas, and I love the idea of using colors on cards for men.  For this post, though, I’m sharing some combinations of traditional colors…

XOX – for the Paper Players

It’s February 1 – can you believe it?!  Joanne James has a fun sketch for us this week at the Paper Players.  I play along with these challenges as often as I can, but I especially like this sketch.  It gave me a perfect opportunity to create a fun Valentine’s Day card that (not by design) has no stamping on it.  I used the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack and Large Letters Framelits Dies…

A Day at the Beach for Freshly Made Sketches

I’m a day late and a dollar short for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  The challenge ended yesterday at noon (the challenge showcases a simple banner with a cluster of shapes on the right hand side), but I’m sharing my card anyway.  🙂  While many used circles and flowers and balloons, I thought the images from Stampin’ Up!’s Day at the Beach would be perfect for this element of the sketch.  I chose a…

Timeless Tags for an Amazing Friend

This week’s Global Design Project challenge is a CASE (Copy and Share Everything) of a super-sweet project by Design Team Member Krista Frattin.  Krista used a polka-dot treat bag to create a soft, neutral card front.  I love the overall look of her project and enjoyed the chalenge of keeping my project soft and sweet.  Here’s my card to honor my friend Krista: And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:Tips, Tricks…
