Remembering Your Birthday for FMS225

I took a little creative license with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches layout – and I hope Jen Mitchell approves.  When I saw Jen’s super-simple sketch, I knew exactly what I would make.  I decided on colors and immediately got to work on this card.  By the end, though, I had flipped the sketch around and moved some things around.  You can still see Jen’s sketch there…if you squint and stand back from your screen…

A Colorful CASE of Smiles

An idea popped into my head this past weekend that I am excited to share with you.  The unique thing about this idea is that it originally popped into my head in March of 2014.  I created a fun, floral card for you then.  Today, I’m using smiley faces from Hello (a stamp set that’s available during Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Sale-a-Bration).  Same concept with different colors and images.  Yippee!  Here’s my card: And here’s the…

NEW VIDEO: Four Techniques for Painting on Stamps with Markers

Yesterday I shared a sweet “missing you” card.  I had so much fun coloring and stamping the image of the bench on a hill that I thought I would share that with you today in a video.  I filmed a fun video to show several “altenative” techniques for stamping this scene with the Happy Home stamp and my Stampin’ Write Markers.  I experimented with these techniques in this video – trying them for the first…

Me? Miss You? Only All the Time!

Since I first received Happy Happenings at the release of Stampin’ Up!’s 2016-2017 Annual Catalog, I’ve been itching to use the pairing of the “Me?  Miss you?  Only all the time” sentiments.  I needed the right colors and right image to pair them with – and I found it!  Yippee!  Today I’m excited to finally showcase this wonderful sentiment, paired with the sweet image from Happy Home.  Here’s my card: I mean, really.  How sweet…

BIG NEWS for FabFri81

Mindy Backes created a fun Fab Friday sketch for us this week that includes several elements I don’t usually embrace (they just aren’t in my wheelhouse) – banners and buttons.  Still, I enjoyed working with them and loved making them work for me.  Mindy’s challenge allowed me to delve into even more uncomfortable territory, which I loved.  More on that later.  Let’s start with my card: And here’s the banner for this week’s Fab Friday…
