A Collection of Masculine Cards

All good things must come to an end.  When I started sharing my Convention display board projects, I knew I would run out at some point.  Well, today is the day.  Today, I will share the last project from my Stampin’ Up! Convention display board.  But the fun won’t stop there.  When I’m done talking about this last project, I’m going to go back through all of the posts from my board – so you can have them all in one place.  If you liked these projects as a collection, please Pin this page so that you can come back to it over and over again.  Heck – if you weren’t blown away by the collection, Pin it anyway as a friendly gesture to me.  🙂

Here’s my display board from Convention:Brian King, Stampin' Up! Display Board ProjectsBefore I share links back to all the cards I’ve already shared, here’s the last one.  In my display, I wanted to showcase cards of all shapes and sizes.  Guys have to be able to offer a quick “thank you” sometimes, so I created these handy monogrammed 3″x3″ cards.  I love the colors together and think they are perfectly masculine with their texture and clean lines: Morning Post Alphabet, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Tips, Tricks and Reminders:

  • Color Combination.  These little cards combine three colors:  Baked Brown Sugar, Island Indigo and Whisper White.  That’s it!  I love that the white brightens the Indigo and helps to ground the Brown.  Although all of these colors are not necessarily found in the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper I used to line the backs of the envelopes, the colors still coordinate.
  • Clean Border.  As with the masculine birthday card I shared yesterday, I think a thick, crisp adds something really clean to a masculine card – helps to take away some of the cuteness for these cute, little 3″x3″ cards.  🙂
  • Texture.  The simple addition of texture from the Houndstooth Textured Embossing Folder adds the perfect amount of manliness to these little notecards, don’t you think?

  10. Something I struggle with, masculine cards, you totally rocked! Great display, thanks for sharing.

  11. Thank you SO much for posting all your cards & techniques from Convention. Since so many of us (myself included) struggle with masculine cards, your booth was so popular at convention that is was really hard to see your demonstrations. I’m so glad you took the time to share them again! You’ve inspired me and given me such ideas for masculine cards. I thank you, as does those I stamp with :O)

  12. Wow, how even more impressive when we see all your cards from your board at convention in one blog post! And I can push one button and share it all on Pinterest. 🙂

  13. Great masculine cards – very clean with wonderful designs and color combinations. Thanks for sharing all this inspiration!

  14. Great set, Brian! Love your creative design style!

  15. How GREAT it is to get a man’s perspective when making cards. I just love what you did for the SL convention. I live here in SL and wanted to sneak in – but since I am “just” a dedicated S-Up customer did not get to.

I love your posts with all the great little “tidbits” that you add on the how and why you did something! I would love to C U add the dimensions you use for your cards. I had a friend ask me for some masculine cards and I immediately went to your site. So now I intend to copy some of your ideas! I must assume that is OK since you take the time to post all these wonderful cards. How can we get you to post the sizes of your cards and cuts? KEEP up the WONDERFUL instructions and cards you make for us. Dorothy Gross

  16. Did you make the K and M cards for my husband Mike and me? Coincidence? I think not! 😉

  17. Hi Brian
I see all of these posts are from last year. Well, here’s one for your page for this year. Love, love, your interpretations! I am a SU demonstrator from Lake City, FL. I’ll pin it for you. Enjoy your playtime! Linda
