A New Video – Isolating Images on a Stamp

Boy, oh, boy!  I’ve got quite a unique share for you today.  I rarely post pictures or videos on my blog unless they are (in my eyes) perfect – unless I am 100% happy with each and every detail.  Today’s a bit different.

As I sat down last night to give today’s video one last “proofread” (I filmed and edited it a couple of weeks ago), I was mortified by a huge mistake in the video.  Huge.  You’ll see it – and won’t even have to look for it.  But, I still have to post it – I’m so happy with the rest of the video which can’t be edited – and I certainly don’t want to scrap it.  Have a look-see:

Since you’ve already watched it, I know you’ve now seen my big flub (couldn’t it have chosen a better facial expression to freeze on?).

“When you can take one stamp and use it multiple, different ways, your options are endless.  I hope you will take this opportunity to look at your stamps to see if you can use some of them in new and different ways.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll join me at stampwithbrian.com for more information and to see what fun we are having over there.”

Here’s a card I made a while back that uses this stamp and this technique (click on the photo if you want to read more):

Fabulous Four, Big News, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, TCC16, FMS146

Oh, yippee!  I hope you’ve enjoyed this card and video.

🙂

Thanks for stopping by today!

  4. AHA! Caught your Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde transformation on film ! This is how you come up with all those “Smartie ” ideas and tips !
And the tape on the stamp tip ….first time I did that I did not remove the tape when I stamped ! See why I come here ….you told us to remove it because you know there are those of us that might need extra help !

    • LOL…Sonny, I’m so glad I’m not alone in that department…I’ve been there and done that, too! Felt so embarrassed and confused when I did..bwahahaa!

  5. Doh! ;-). Thanks for sharing anyway. :-).

  6. Great tip! The face, well……

  7. I have used scotch tape before, but I ink up my stamp first, then put the scotch tape over the portion i don’t want to stamp. TFS!

  8. Haha, oh yes … You really stand over those things as a bad face and want to give us tips instead 😉 Thank you !

  9. Always great tips, Brian!!

  10. I used to mask my words but this will be much easier. Now, I just have to remember to take the tape off! Thanks, Brian.

  11. Great tips need no apologies! If you hadn’t told me about the error, I would have just thought it was my computer or youtube acting up! And HOW much were you paid to develop this video??? Exactly!!! Be kind to yourself.

  14. Oh Brian! That certainly is a video to remember! 🙂 I think I’ll keep it in my “Saved Emails” file so that every time I need a laugh I can look at it once again. You are such a cutie!

  15. Great tip on how to isolate words on a stamp. I learn so much from your videos. My favorite part of most videos are the bloopers, so thanks for that too.

  16. Love the freeze frame! Love the technique as well and will get quite a bit of use from it.

  17. Flubs or whatever…I always love your videos.

  18. You rock Brian! Like FL Girl said, I would have assumed it was frozen on my end 🙂

Love the detailed tip how you mask with the tape. I’ve done this before and my tape didn’t stick great and came off as I inked, that is a great idea to “burnish” it, thanks!

  19. Love the great tip (especially about using the scissors tip or piercing tool to make sure the tape is down securely…and that freeze frame at the end just adds to the fun! Off to see which sentiment stamps I can play with now!

  20. See…I thought you were going to forget to remove the tape (which I’ve done more than once!) Nice video!

    Cheryl

  21. You rock, freeze frame or not!

Brian thanks for the instructions, tips and humor. Not enough humor in the world today.

      • That’s so sweet, Ruth Ann. I love that there’s a community of people who know each other through my blog. LOVE IT. I agree with your perspective on humor – always a good thing.

  24. What a great sense of humor and self you have. Not everyone would show this boo-boo. Just goes to show what a great person you are! Great tip – will put it to use. Thanks for sharing – love it!!

  28. Great tip that I had never thought of, Thank You…. Freeze Frame appears you’re a tad hung over . I’m sure everyone got a chuckle too. It just shows you are ” Perfectly Human.”

  29. Question Brian…. What is the purpose of blowing on your stamp ?

    • Brenda, When you ink a stamp with a stamp pad and immediately stamp on paper, there’s not a lot of time for the ink to dry. When you paint on stamps with markers (or if there’s time between inking up and stamping), you might want to give a “huff” (like you were trying to show your breath on a cold, winter morning) on the stamp to moisten the ink that might have dried onto the stamp a bit. Does that make sense? I hope it helps.
