New Video: Three Ways to Line Up Layers of Cardstock

Last week I shared a quick and easy card that features Cozy Christmas and Joyful Season stamp sets.  Here’s the card I shared with you:

Cozy Christmas, Joyful Season, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingThe write-up I shared for this card focused mostly on the scene created in the middle of the card and the panels of color underneath – if you missed it you can SEE IT HERE. What my original post did not cover is how I aligned the three panels of cardstock underneath the ovals.  The color-blocked piece is made up of one large Mint Macaron panel and is covered by a piece of Very Vanilla and a strip of Whisper White.

To share THREE WAYS you can perfectly line up cardstock flush with the edge of another piece, I created a quick video for you.  Enjoy!

MORE TIPS FOR LINING UP CARDSTOCK.  In case you missed it, here’s another video I shared with tips for perfectly centering panels on a card front:  VIDEO: TIPS FOR CENTERING LAYERS.

STILL MORE.  Because I’m in a very giving mood, here are the measurements for the three pieces of cardstock that make up the middle panel of this card:

  • Mint Macaron – 3-3/4″ x 5″
  • Very Vanilla – 3-3/4″ x 2-1/4″
  • Whisper White – 3-3/4″ x 1/2″

NOT DONE YET.  Here are the products I used to make this beautiful card:

Thanks for stopping by today!

Great tips and the video was great in showing them! I had never thought to use the trimmer and that makes perfect sense! I love the dramatic look of the mint macaron with the black on your card. I was able to just click on the video today instead of going to the YOU TUBE button and watching it that way. Great!

  8. Love your tips as I’ll definitely give them a try when aligning cardstock! Thanks! 🙂

  9. Brian great idea for the perfect panels. I love the trimmer, you can also use that bar to even out the center fold for the base of your card.

  10. Good tips for aligning same size pieces but my real challenge is layering pieces on top of each other and having equal spacing around each piece. Drives me crazy when one side has a larger margin then the other. Any good ideas for that.

  11. Wonderful tips! Just placed my order. Finally getting some items on my wish list!

  12. I do the stack and the snip, but I LOVE the tip you gave for sliding it against the Stampin’ Trimmer! Fabulous!

Thank you Brian for sharing with us!
