A Clean and Simple Thank You Card: Part 2

On Saturday, I shared a clean and simple thank you card with you.  I was so happy to see how these images (from completely different stamp sets) paired so perfectly.  If you missed it, here’s the card I shared (you can click on the picture to see the original post):

Kinda Eclectic, In the Meadow, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, clean and simple thank you card

On Saturday morning, I delivered projects to my local stamp club – while our monthly meeting was scheduled a month ago, I didn’t plan that I’d spend all of this past week sick (lots of coughing and sneezing).  🙁  I certainly didn’t want to get any of these ladies sick, so I called in to the meeting and walked them through the projects.  They made this card with a few extra details:

  • Wink of Stella.  Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Occasions Catalog introduces us to Wink of Stella Glitter Pens (one gold and one transluscent).  They are a great way to add a thin layer of shine to a project.  After their finished cards were dry, they dabbed a touch of Wink of Stella onto the sweet flowers on this card.  Since the flowers were colored with Stampin’ Write Markers (water-based inks), the colors will run if brushed with Wink of Stella (also water-based).

  • Wrap it Up.  Although the odd-sized card (3-1/2″ x 5-1/2″) will still fit inside a Medium Envelope, I offered the group a fun and unique way to hand-deliver this card.  They tucked the card in the corner of a Sketched Dots Tag a Bag Gift Bag, loosely wrapped the side around the card and glued it down.  They folded the top flap down and secured it with a piece of Melon Mambo It’s My Party Washi Tape before tying a bow around it with 3/8″ Melon Mambo Satin Ribbon.  The translucent bag allows the receiver of your card to see a bit of its beauty before opening it.  🙂Sketched Dots Tag a Bag Gift Bag, Kinda Eclectic, In the Meadow, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, clean and simple thank you card
  • Rough Coloring.  After the flowers are stamped in Archival Basic Black, I roughly colored them with Stampin’ Write Markers.  No detail needed – just brushes of Pear Pizzazz against the grass so that the green shows, just dabs of Melon Mambo in each flower and just wisps of Wisteria Wonder on some of the flowers.  This rough coloring adds artistry to the bold, black lines.

Aren’t these talented ladies adorable?
