Friday was an amazing day! 160 of my favorite people joined me for my Stamp-Along event (I’ll share more about that event on Tuesday). My favorite attendee at the event is Mary King, sometimes known as Mom. I am so happy she is able to join us for these events – she loves to meet my stamping friends and to enjoy the excitement of the events.
For the swap, Mom made a gorgeous card that’s perfect for Spring. Her card could be used for any occasion – baby, birthday or thank you. I’m excited to share her card with you today! Here’s Mom’s card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Beautiful Day. The focal point of Mom’s card is the big, bold butterfly from Beautiful Day, a stamp set from Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Occasions Catalog. Prior to this weekend, Stampin’ Up! gave us a heads-up on some stamp sets that are carrying forward into the 2018 Annual Catalog – and Beautiful Day is one of them. Yay! If you don’t have this set yet, please check it out! I’ve shared several projects with this set over the past several months and have enjoyed playing with these images and sentiments. Here’s a look at Beautiful Day:

- Build-a-Butterfly. Mom stamped the butterfly on four colors of 3″ x 3″ cardstock (Pear Pizzazz, Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky and So Saffron), using the Stamparatus to make sure the butterfly is placed in the exact same place on all four colors. Once her butterflies were in place, she cut the 3″ x 3″ panels into 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ squares. Pulling one small square from each color, she reassembled her butterfly and glued them to a 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ panel of Basic Black. How fun is that?! She mounted that on a piece of Crumb Cake and stamped the bold, fun sentiment from Perennial Birthday.
- Infinity Shot. It wouldn’t be a swap card without an infinity shot, right? When Mom was done with her swaps, we lined them all up to grab a quick photo before she packed them up for the event. Here’s a fun infinity shot of Mom’s swaps:
How great do these look, lined up next to one another?
Stamp Sets: Beautiful Day, Perennial Birthday Papers: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Soft Sky, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron Inks: Archival Basic Black Accessories: Stampin’ Dimensionals
Do you like Mom’s card? I hope you’ll leave her a comment to let her know. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by today!
Brian
SPRING ONE-FOR-ONE CARD SWAP. I want to see your Spring-themed cards! That’s why I’m hosting a Spring one-for-one card swap. I need to receive your cards by Friday, April 13, so please don’t wait! You can learn more here.

That is one fabulous card! I cannot wait to use your technique! Great work.
She’s pretty good, right? Thanks, Shirley! <3
Wow! This is a beautiful card. The Stamparatus makes it so easy to stamp.
This design wouldn’t have been possible without the exact positioning. Glad you like her card.
Dear Mary, your swap card for Brian’s huge event is so lovely! I’m curious as to how many of these you made. Brian LOVES his “infinity shots”? and it looks like a whole LOT. The Stamparatus must have been such a huge help. Do you love it?
You all must have had such a super day yesterday! Thank you, Brian, for sharing your mom’s beautiful card! ?
Suzie – Thanks for your sweet comments! Mom made 51 of these. The exact positioning from the Stamparatus made it possible for her to crank through them. While I was at work last week, she was assembling these and helping me get ready for the event. <3 I'm happy to share her with y'all. 🙂
Love, Love, Love this card. I will be making this one. Thanks for the idea.
🙂 So glad you like it. Mom’s a talented woman.
Mary, I love your card. Thanks, Brian, for including the measurements and tips. I’m looking forward to Tuesday to see how yesterday went and then get more details about OnStage, as well. Enjoy your day!
Thanks for your comments, HJ! Mom loved reading through these, reminding me just how popular she is. 🙂
Oh how beautiful, a real gem. Who wouldn’t want one of these swaps?
I love the method of stamping also. I thought the four colors were cut first, taped together on the back and then stamp the butterfly. “Mom’s” method was so much easier.
Have a blessed Sunday!
🙂
She had lots of fun with this, Nancy. I suppose either way could work now that you mention it. Thanks for your comments. I know she appreciated hearing from so many. <3

Oh Mary – Brian better watch out because your creativity may soon out weigh his and we all know how super creative Brian is. Of course he did inherit the gene from his beautiful Mom. What a fun card and what a fantastic job you did putting those pieces together. Without Brian telling us how you did it I would have thought it was just the image stamped on background paper that you have made. WAY TO GO! Thanks for showing us your Mom’s fantastic swap cards Brian.
Thanks, Grace! I’m so happy to share her with all of you! <3
