There’s something for everyone in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Holiday Catalog. When we all first got a peek at the book on Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Incentive Trip to Alaska, most of my friends pointed to Signs of Santa as the bundle I would be in love with. They were right. I adore the little characters, fun colors and old-school feel of it all. Incidentally, I wonder, how something can feel retro and fresh at the same time. I used the new bundle for my Design Team project for CAS(E) This Sketch. Here’s my card:
Cute, right? “Wishing you everything on your list…” is resolved with “…and more” on the inside of the card. And here’s the sketch for this week’s challenge that inspired my card (the challenge will be live on the CAS(E) This Sketch site at 10am EST:
- Signs of Santa Bundle. I’m in love with the stocky, eyes-closed characters in the Signs of Santa stamp set. As I mentioned above, they are both reminiscent of Christmases past AND new and fresh images. I love the whimsy of it all. Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with a pair of elves, and some fun accessories give us great inspiration for cards of fun, 3-D projects. The Signs of Santa stamp set and coordinating Santa’s Signpost Framelits Dies are a perfect pair. They also coordinate with a suite of products (papers, bags, enamel shapes, twine, ribbon and Memories & More cards) that will make you very happy this Christmas. Here’s a closer look at this fun, new Signs of Santa Bundle: I cropped Santa and the elf with these dies. I snipped the single package from the stack of packages to add to the elf’s hand. You can click on the image above to see some additional Stampin’ Up! samples with this new set.
- Artistic Touch! When I stamp images to color, I usually stamp multiples in case I make a boo-boo while coloring – or to give me room to play around. While studying some of the samples in Stampin’ Up!’s Holiday Catalog, I noted that some include a touch of blue ink along the edge of the “good list in Santa’s hand” and include other accents on white areas (like Santa’s beard). I was feeling artistic, so I bravely added some artistic flair with my Stampin’ Blends to the “good list” in Santa’s hand – I liked it so much that I decided to NOT add color around the edges of Santa’s beard (it’s OK to just leave things alone every once in a while, right?). Here’s a closer look:
- A Bright Christmas Trio. The Santa’s Workshop Suite features a brilliant mix of Poppy Parade and Garden Green. Fun! Because I knew I wanted to color my characters with Stampin’ Blends, I stuck with colors available to me in those markers. Granny Apple Green looks great with Poppy Parade, and the two are softened a bit with Pool Party. I love the sweet combination! If you are inspired by the combination of these colors, please save this:
Bundles: Signs of Santa Stamp Sets: Signs of Santa Papers: Brights 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, Poppy Parade, Basic Black, Pool Party, Thick Whisper White Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin’ Blends (Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, Pineapple Punch) Accessories: Santa’s Signpost Framelits Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge. This challenge goes live at 10am EST.
Thanks for stopping by today!

What a cute, fun card, Brian. Love the colors, fun images and sentiment. Have a great day!
Thanks, HJ! I love this bundle and plan to have lots of fun with it this Fall. <3
I like the black around the Santa – your cards always have a fresh look to them – I like that. Shading is a fun way to add some depth to a card – use pencil colors with a light touch until you are more comfortable doing them – they can also be erased if you don’t like what you’ve done. Thanks for sharing your fun card.
Thanks so much, Evelyn! I appreciate your tips and will give them a try. <3
Greta job with this sketch..its so jolly!
Thanks so much, my friend. <3
I must agree with Dawn. This reminds me of the Santa on Rudolph too, and of typical Santas in my younger years. What a fun card, Brian. Fun and happy. You just have to smile on seeing it. Thanks for sharing.

Super fun take on the sketch!
Thanks, Leigh! It’s a great sketch – can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with.
I just can’t STAND it! I said “Now Bobbi…you really don’t need the stamp set or the framelits; just buy the paper and cut these cute little guys out”. Well…guess what? You know the rest! Here comes order #4!
I just adore your card, almost as much as I adore you, Mr. King. Have a great weekend. π
I’ve learned to quiet those voices that tell me I don’t need something, Bobbi! <3 Thanks so much for your sweet and entertaining comments.
I think they have to be the cutest Holiday pairs to date. Super cute card.
π Thanks, Robbye! I think this set is so, so cute! Glad you like it, too. <3
