Lucky Me with Game On

Game Night at the King House isn’t very competitive these days. While I love fun board games and card games, Game Night during a pandemic has looked more like two people struggling to complete an impossible puzzle. Game On is a new stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s 2020 Annual Catalog that called my name -and here’s a card I made with it:

Game On, Stampin Up!, Brian KingI made this card with the sketch for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge – funny how it’s almost exactly the same sketch for this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge, too (see yesterday’s card here). Here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:

  • Game On. Game On is a super-fun stamp set centered around classic games and coordinating sentiments. Chess, cards and dice. Love them all. I thought the deck of cards would best fit this sketch, so I went with the cards. Here’s a look at the Game On stamp set:Game On, Stampin Up! 152646While I would prefer a sentiment that said, “LUCKY YOU because you have me,” I went with the one that was provided in the stamp set. 🙂
  • Hippo & Friends Dies. I’m going to be showcasing the Hippo & Friends Dies a lot over the coming year, so I suggest you pop on over to the online store and grab a set for yourself. You won’t be sorry. I cropped the fun sentiment with one of the stitched, layering dies from this set and then glued it to Real Red cardstock. I then snipped around the shape of the cutout to create a thin red frame. Here’s a closer look at the sentiment on my card: Game On, Stampin Up!, Brian KingHow fun is that?! I love this shape (and there are three sizes of this shape in the set). Here’s a look at Hippo Happiness and the coordinating dies that are bundled together in the new 2020 Annual Catalog: Hippo Happiness Bundle, Stampin Up! 154080
  • Color Combination. I love the mix of red and black with a little bit of gray – it’s a sophisticated, but fun, combination that’s especially perfect with a deck of cards. If you like this mix of Real Red, Basic Gray and Basic Black as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this off for future reference: Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Real Red, Basic Gray, Basic Black

Stamp Sets: Game On  Papers: Regals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, Basic Black, Basic Gray, Real Red, Thick Whisper White, Whisper White  Inks: Real Red, Memento Tuxedo Black  Accessories: Hippo & Friends Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope you’ll pop over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today!
