There are so many combinations of reds and greens that are perfect for Christmas (so festive, so fun), but I wanted to make a card that features some beautiful greens for Christmas. I reached for the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper in the Annual Catalog to find the perfect inspiration for my green Christmas card. Here’s my card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Forever Greenery. While you are snatching up all the great deals during Stampin’ Up!’s Year-end Closeout Sale (and picking up some amazing, retiring papers from the Holiday Catalog in the process), be sure to reach back from some favorites from the 2020 Annual Catalog. One of my favorites is this pack of Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper that created the backdrop for my sweet-and-simple card. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this grand pack of papers:
While the panel I used on my card is not specific to Christmas, it’s perfectly festive, don’t you think? If you would like to flip though the pages of this paper in my online store, click on the picture below:
- Little Tree. When a sentiment has a perfect “shelf” in its design, I can’t help put to put something on the shelf. The flat space above “‘Tis the” in this sentiment almost forced me to add an adorable Christmas tree to the sentiment. Here’s a closer look:
Here’s a quick breakdown of this tree-topped sentiment:- The sentiment is stamped from the Tag Buffet stamp set, soon to retire.
- The sentiment and tree are cropped with the Stitched Shapes Dies (the largest square from the dies)
- The tiny tree is cropped from Garden Green cardstock with a Stitched Triangles Die and popped up with three Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The teeny-tiny star atop the tiny tree is cropped with Soft Sea Foam cardstock with the Stitched Stars Dies (it’s the inside of the tiniest star in the set).
- The sentiment and tree are balanced on a Garden Green piece of cardstock that was cropped with the Stitched Rectangles Dies.
- Christmas Greens. There are lots of beautiful colors in the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper. I pulled the colors for my card from the background piece I used on this card – Garden Green and Soft Sea Foam are a gorgeous pairing of greens. If you like this combination of Whisper White, Soft Sea Foam and Garden Green as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

Stamp Sets: Tag Buffet Papers: Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper, Garden Green, Soft Sea Foam, Whisper White Inks: Garden Green Accessories: Stitched Triangles Dies, Stitched Stars Dies, Stitched Shapes Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals

Brian, this card is beautiful! Your triangle tree and the sentiment are perfect together. Love the greens!
Brian, what a great card! Perfect for “mass production” as well! Thank you so much! Thank you ?
Love how clean and simple this is. Pretty paper and the perfect hat!
I love this pretty card with the stitched dies and layers all in green. Very pretty! Enjoy your day!
Very creative with your tree! Love it!
Darling card Brian.
Now this is fun! What a great angle on this clean and simple card! Such an artistic and modern take on a Christmas card. Easily could be featured in a museum gift shop catalogue.
Love, love, love this card Brian! Monochromatic cards are always among my favorites. Can’t wait to see what kind of “special” card you have for tomorrow’s “special” day.
Oh Brian this is definitely a favorite! At first glance it looks like a beautiful less is more card, however; after taking a closer looks… it’s for sure more, six layers more….I love it!
Stunning card Brian.
Thanks, Faith! ♥
Ahhhhhhhh, “a shelf”. Love that term and will now look for shelves on all my sentiments!
🙂 It sounded quite adorable when I tried to name the flat top of a sentiment. So glad you like it. 🙂
Love this DSP ! You used it to perfection ! Plus I thought at first glance your little triangle tree was cut out of felt !!!
Great card ! I like the term SHELF also !! SMILE !!
An iconic BK design, between color, layers, choice of DSP and trendy layout. You never disappoint!!
Brian, since I know you (8 years now), I’ve always admired your amazing layering skills, and how beautifully you use color and design paper to frame your images, this card is a perfect example of those coveted gifts. The fact that you saw a “shelf” on that sentiment just amazed me, I would never have thought of that, WOW!! but now I know, ?
Thank you for sharing.
Bold and bright with a touch of elegance !
