No One Like You, Pale Papaya

I have paid tribute to Stampin’ Up!’s retiring 2021-2023 In Colors this week. Early in the week, I gave a big “love you!” to Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent (if you missed that post, you can see it here). Yesterday, I said “goodbye” to Polished Pink with a new card (if you missed that post, you can see it here). Today I’m giving a big “you’ll be missed” to Pale Papaya, the fourth (and final) retiring In Color. Pale Papaya sound perfect for Spring (mmmm….fresh papaya), but it’s perfect for any season. It looks great with blues, corals and rich browns.

While Pale Papaya and the other retiring colors will be missed, I know I’ll stay distracted by the parade of amazing, new products and gorgeous, new colors on their way to me now. To give this sweet, soft color a proper send-off, I created a card to say “thanks!”. I’m also sharing a look back at some Pale Papaya projects from over the years and some of my favorite color combinations with Pale Papaya.

Here’s the card I made for the send-off of Pale Papaya:

My card features two Pale Papaya panels of the Lovely in Linen Designer Series Paper, which is retiring on May 1 (or when supplies run out). I added Pale Papaya ink to the top panel of Designer Series Paper with a Blending Brush to add depth to the piece of paper. I added a “clean” panel of the same pattern behind the focal panels to show the difference. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Lovely in Linen Designer Series Paper:

How perfect is the sentiment on my card – “There’s no one like you” is a sweet thing to say to any friend or family member, but it’s a fitting acknowledgement of the love Pale Papaya has given us over the past two years. It’s from the Happy Labels stamp set. While both the Happy Labels Stamp Set and coordinating Happy Labels Pick a Punch are carrying forward into the new catalog, the bundled pricing goes away May 1. Here’s a look at this fun stamp set:

I added a Pale Papaya heart behind the sentiment for a little something extra. The heart is punched with the Heart Punch Pack, which is also retiring and marked down from $38.00 to $19.00. Wowza! Here’s a look at this punch pack:

As I say goodbye to Pale Papaya, I want to share some projects from over the years that wouldn’t have been the same without this sweet, peachy pink. Retiring In Colors

Pale Papaya is only one of the four colors retiring from the 2021-2023 In Colors – Fresh Freesia has earned its spot in the Subtles color collection. Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Polished Pink are also retiring.

Like other Last Chance products, when these products sell out, they are gone. If you’d like to restock on these colors (or any of the other retiring colors), be sure to place your order soon. ♥
