Be Inspired by Ocean Fun

It’s time for another Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop – what fun! The Be Inspired Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world who are excited to share our themed projects with you. I’m so honored to be a part of this group of talented stampers!

For today’s Be Inspired Blog Hop, we are creating projects inspired by the ocean – how fun! With so many gorgeous and sophisticated ocean-themed products (Seaside Wishes and Ocean Friends), it’s only logical that I would turn to the Otterly Adorable Designer Series Paper for inspiration – Otterly Adorable of all things. I’m excited to share my project with you and hope you love the hop of the other projects, too!

Wishing You Were Here

When I was playing around with the ocean theme, I immediately knew I was going to tear up a bunch of paper to create waves or sand. Stampin’ Up!’s cardstocks are the same color through their core, but the Designer Series Papers and 12″ x 12″ Two-Tone papers are white in the center. When torn, they create a fun, white edge that’s reminiscent of the breaks of ocean waves. That’s pretty much how my card started. Here’s the card I made to share with you today:

The waves at the center of the card and the fish on the outside layers are pulled from the pages of the Otterly Adorable Designer Series Paper. While many pages are filled to the brim with otterly mammals, there are several prints that are versatile for other projects. I was happy to have those available to me for today’s project. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the adorable Otterly Adorable Designer Series Paper:

You’ll see many, many more Two-Tone papers in the upcoming Annual Catalog. How fun! The sentiment on my card is perfect for a beach trip (how many post cards feature a “WISH YOU WERE HERE” sentiment?!). After assembling my card, though, it felt a little more like “wish you were swimming with the fishes” – that’s definitely not the sentiment I was going for, but … I went with it. Here’s a closer look at the sentiment on my card:

I had loads of fun with this project and hope you like what I made! I hope you’ll continue the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop to see more projects by my talented friends – I know you’ll love them. I’ve already peeped Emma’s project, and I KNOW you’re going to love it – the next stop is an enchanting project by Emma Goddard. Click on the banner below to continue through the hop:
