Happy July 4! It’s Independence Day in the United States – and there’s so much to celebrate. The holiday falls on a Friday this year, which gives many people a long weekend (and many others a reason to take the entire week off). It’s warm and sunny outside, so there’s no better time for a holiday!
If you are headed to your craft room to make little party favors or place settings or host thank you cards for the July 4 party you are attending (you are always invited to the BEST parties!), then you are sure to love today’s post. Today I’m going to share a look at some of the best color combinations for this patriotic holiday.
Traditional Patriotic Colors
Stampin’ Up! has a brilliant collection of blues and reds. Real Red, Basic White and Blueberry Bushel are the current colors which most resemble the American Flag – a safe, traditional combination.
If you want more of an “old-timey” feel with your patriotic colors, then Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Night of Navy give you a sophisticated, vintage combination.
A Little Metallic Shine
Gold and silver elements add status and shine to patriotic emblems and military uniforms. While these metallics could be added to the color above, they could be added to other combinations of red and blue to still create a patriotic feel.
Gold is SO RICH and SO REGAL when paired with Cherry Cobbler and Secret Sea:
Silver adds a little shine the mix of bright Poppy Parade and subtle Balmy Blue:
Muted Alternatives
Perhaps you aren’t looking for the most traditional colors for your patriotic project (you have always been a bit of rebel and always want to make a statement…). Here are two combinations that are less-than-traditional but still perfect for a patriotic project:
Cloud Cover is a hazy blue that pairs well with Misty Moonlight and Cherry Cobbler:
I love Pool Party for Patriotic projects. I think it looks great with Lost Lagoon and Real Red:
What is your favorite color combination for patriotic projects? Is Real Red your go-to, or do you prefer Cherry Cobbler or Poppy Parade? Which are your favorite blues?
I hope these color combinations will help to give you a head start on your July 4 projects! ♥
Thanks for stopping by today!
