Welcome to my Week in Review. Today I want to give you a quick rundown of the week (for those who don’t follow me every day) with a little extra background (for those who already tune in daily). But first, I want to tell you a little bit about my week…
Twenty years ago I took improv classes at Dad’s Garage, a local theater. I eventually performed in improv shows, hosted competitions and over the course of three or four years. As things got busy at work, it became more difficult for me to stay up late for the shows and I stepped away. I still remember those days fondly – such an incredible, youthful energy at that place. This past week I went to lunch with the new Managing Director of the theater to help with some finance and accounting questions (it’s a fun, new volunteer opportunity for me). As I walked into the office, I immediately saw Jon Carr, who was in my start class 20 years ago…what fun!
Jon is now one of the Artistic Directors at the theater. On Friday night, Jeremiah and I went to the 30 year birthday party at the theater and saw so many wonderful friends from years ago. Eve Krueger was another member of my start class – she’s now the Associate Artistic Director at the theater. Here we are with Eve:
You can see what a joy she is, right?! Fun note – Jeremiah is wearing a t-shirt from a improv tournament we attended in 2007.
Enough about me. Let’s jump into the week…
Monday
On Monday I shared the first of two cards with the Need for Tweed Designer Series Paper, new in July’s Online Exclusives. Cindie McDuffee challenged me to showcase the papers, not sure how to use the designs – and I was happy to share both projects I made. The papers can be overwhelming, but they are great when used in the right balance. I paired the Granny Apple Green tweed page with two designs from the Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper to make this card:

There’s still time to sign up for the kit – the deadline is noon tomorrow. I’d love to add you to the roster so you can enjoy the projects we’ve designed for you. ♥ To learn more and sign up, CLICK HERE.
Wednesday
Wednesday was the first of three days in Stampin’ Up!’s FREE SHIPPING promotion. I used the launch as an opportunity to share 5 ways to enjoy the promotion. While the promotion is now over, the list is still a great prompt for your orders. To learn more, CLICK HERE.
In the post, I also reminded you that I am still offering CROWN REWARDS for repeat customers – so you can earn Stampin’ Rewards with Stampin’ Up! and Crown Rewards with me. Who doesn’t love to earn free products?! ♥
Thursday
On Thursday I shared the second Need for Tweed card of the week. While the first card (on Monday) features a small strip of the tweed paper, this card showcases two big panels. Nothing demure about the tweed on this card:

Bonus! Not only do I love the tweed panels on this card, but I love the mix of three “basic” colors – Basic White, Basic Beige and Basic Black. If you like this classic combination as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
Friday
On Friday I shared a sweet Halloween card with the Spooky Sweet Specialty Designer Series Paper. I adore this sweet hippo from the pages of punchouts in the pack of papers (the candy corns are also from the punchouts).
I had a stainless steel utility sink installed in the Fungeon last month – and it’s really coming in handy. With my freshly washed “light purples” blending brush, I added Petunia Pop to the white and orange panel from the Spooky Sweet Specialty Designer Series Paper. I was happy with the outcome.

Saturday
In last Sunday’s post, I shared the back page of a colored panel of sunflowers and told you how I loved the look of the page. I told you I felt challenged to color the embossed side of page of sunflowers and showcase the debossed side. I shared that project with you yesterday:

I’m so happy to share these projects and ideas with you. I’ll have more to share next week – I hope you’ll come back every day to see what I’m sharing. ♥
Thanks for stopping by today!

As always Brian ,your week in review is a great place to see all your ideas again , in one post! My favorite of the week is the Tweed card with basic k black, basic beige and white!
Thanks for sharing your Creativity!
I love I can share and that there’s a small collection of people who want to see what I’m sharing. Thanks, Dawn! ♥
Like Dawn, I enjoy seeing your week in review. My week was crazy, and somehow, I missed your adorable Saturday card. The Sunflower embossing folder is a hit. It’s everywhere. Now I’m inspired to ink it and see what happens. Enjoy your day, my friend.
Thanks so much, Hilda! I have had fun with that embossing folder – it’s a winner! Hope your weekend has been wonderful! ♥
You are a man of many talents!
Awww…thanks, Ann! ♥
I appreciate your help with the Need for Tweed paper and how to use it. You are the guy who can see the good in everything!
Loving the retro tee shirts and improv? That is impressive! Any old film clips?
I see the good in many things – but not all things. :/ Thanks so much, Cindie! I don’t have any recordings of my improv shows – just the stand ups.
Some of my best friends in life are theater people! And me?? Well someone has to hand out the programs…..fun week!
I, too, love being around the theater. When I wasn’t performing back in the day, I’d work the ticket box or concessions. I also did clean-up, but that just meant staying later and later. Always fun.
It’s always fun meeting up with old friends. So glad you have time to enjoy
Renewing friends and fun! Have a fun and relaxing day.
It was a wonderful night. Thanks, my friend.
Brian, I have known you for a really long time, but I can’t recall the exact time. But, I had discovered your comedy videos as a part of that whole time. Funny, but I watched them again just a month or so ago! Still good stuff! I’m still here. Got out of the house for the first time in exactly one year on 7/18! My CNA and I went to the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo in Duluth for my birthday. Didn’t stay too long, but I did it and I felt human again! Card making has really helped me during this time.
