My Stamping Friends

I’ve been booked all week – it seems I’ve been very good at staying busy this past year. I have loads of stamping friends because of this craft, and I was excited to spend time with two of them this past week…

Libby

Libby and I were introduced by an out-of-town friend five or six years ago. She lives nearby, and we’ve chatted online for years, but we finally met in person for a fun lunch this past week. Libby is a long-time stamper, so we had lots to chat about. We met for lunch at Tum Pok Pok, a favorite Thai restaurant.

Brian King and Libby HicksonMitch

Jeremiah and I are close friends with Mitch and Megan – I’ve shared pictures with them in my past Week-in-Review posts. Last week, Mitch wanted to learn more about Stampin’ Up! – perfect timing given this month’s join promotion. It’s rare that I host a one-on-one card class, but we made a card together in the Fungeon when he popped over after work.

I made heavy suggestions during the process, but Mitch made everything on his card. Here’s Mitch with the card he made using the Big Little Things stamp set:

Back to My Week in Review

So, that’s what I’ve been up to this past week. Let’s get back to a look at the projects I shared with you this week …

Monday

I kicked off the week feeling inspired after such a fun and creative weekend. I shared the first of three alternative projects from January’s Special Delivery Paper Pumpkin Kit. Here’s the card I shared on Monday:

Tuesday

On Tuesday, Stampin’ Up! launched three new promotions and two new product offerings, so Tuesday’s post was dedicated to sharing everything you need to know about each. The post covers:

  1. New Join Promotion
  2. New Product of the Month
  3. New Last Chance Sale
  4. Two New Kits
  5. Bonus Days Redemption

If you’d like to learn about any of these topics, CLICK HERE.

The New Product of the Month is INCREDIBLE. Here’s a look at the new pack of papers you can pick up for $5 with a $75 order this month:

Wednesday

Midweek creativity calls for simple layers, thoughtful color choices, and projects that feel just as good to make as they do to give. This blue beauty checks all the boxes – easy to recreate, versatile in purpose, and full of small details that make a big impact.

Here’s the Paper Pumpkin alternative project I shared on Wednesday:

Thursday

This week has been all about creative possibilities – mixing Paper Pumpkin favorites with new catalog goodies and exploring how far a kit can stretch. From simple swaps to fresh bundles, it’s been fun showing how a few changes can completely transform a design. Here’s a super-sweet Easter card I made with January’s kit and the Easter Basket Dies:

Week-in-Review Bonus: My friend Vicki commented on this post to suggest the “Easter basket” could be used all year long. She pointed out you could also easily trim the handles off the basket for a new design to hold fruit or flowers. Love it!

Friday

A shiny troop of mushrooms and its lone ladybug friend is a perfect reminder that cardmaking doesn’t have to be complicated to be special. Here’s a sweet notecard I shared with you on Friday:

Sweet Bugs Dies, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingWeek-in-Review Bonus: I love the mix of bright and soft colors on this card. If you love the mix of Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue and Poppy Parade as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

Saturday

I ended the week with a sweet Valentine’s Tag in a trio of pinks and red that pulled together a bunch of circles and a fun die that should be at the top of your wish list (if you don’t already have it). Here’s the tag I shared with you yesterday:

  1. So much card inspiration! Thank you!

  2. Spring has sprung in your world! Such pretty cards! And I truly thought you had met Libby before!

  3. I figured something was up with your server. Thanks for the update! And it sure looks like a fun week with new friends!

    • Thanks, Cindie! It’s be a great week! I didn’t pre-announce the shift because I didn’t have a clue the new messages would be “junked.” It’s been a great week! ♥

  4. I like Mitch’s card. I just ordered that set because I had ideas for the hippo. The monochromatic layout is inspiring me to work with the other animals now.

    • It was fun to create a clean, simple card with him. We used dies, heat embossing, a punch, inks and embellishments – so he was able to play with a lot in his first card-making experience. Can’t wait to see what you make with it, Vickie!
