There’s a reason farmers want to scare crows out of their gardens – they are mean, mean birds. In our tree-filled backyard, the owls frightened away the hawks before the crows eventually chased off the owls. Mean.
It seems fitting, then, that a crow can become the perfect character for a fun Halloween card! Pulled from the Fun for Fall Bundle and paired with dies from the Web of Fun Bundle, here’s the Halloween card I created to share with you today:
My card combines two new bundles that just happen to have the word Fun in their names. That seems pretty appropriate for a playful Halloween project, don’t you think?
Two Fun Bundles
I absolutely adore the dies in the Web of Fun Bundle, and on this card I only used one of them. How cool is that single word cut from Timid Tiger cardstock? It’s such a simple detail, but it adds so much personality to the design.
To finish the card, I stamped the adorable crows and sentiment from the Fun for Fall Bundle. The combination came together exactly as I’d hoped.
Here’s a look at the Web of Fun Bundle:
The crows and sentiment may not have been designed specifically for Halloween, but they certainly feel right at home on a spooky card, don’t you think?

Here’s a closer look at how these two bundles came together to give me exactly what I wanted on this card:
Three Fun Colors
The 5″ x 3-3/4″ background is a Gray Granite pattern from the Delicate Dreams Specialty Designer Series Paper. It’s one of those designs that can be elegant or a little mysterious, making it just as perfect for Halloween as it is for everyday cards.
Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Delicate Dreams Specialty Designer Series Paper:
This card highlights three colors that work beautifully together for Halloween – Timid Tiger, Gray Granite and Basic Black. The warm orange pops against the cool gray while the black brings just the right amount of spooky drama. It’s a combination I’ll definitely be using again, and if you love it as much as I do, I hope you’ll tuck it away for inspiration on a future project!
If you like this mix of colors as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
Last Thoughts
Sometimes all it takes is one unexpected image to spark an idea. These crows may not have been created with Halloween in mind, but paired with the bold die from the Web of Fun Bundle and a moody paper pattern, they couldn’t feel more at home. I love discovering new ways to use stamps and dies beyond their intended purpose – it’s one of the most rewarding parts of creating. I hope this card inspires you to look at your own supplies with fresh eyes and see what fun combinations you can dream up!
