The first batch of cards from my Summer One-for-One Card Swap were shared yesterday (you can see them here), but today we’re taking a quick little break from the swap festivities so I can share a super-cute Christmas card I created with the A Stitched Season Designer Series Paper and the coordinating Stitched Stocking Bundle.
Here’s the card I made to share with you today:
For this design, I cropped nine 1-1/2″ squares from a single sheet of the A Stitched Season Designer Series Paper – three featuring the delightful stitched illustrations on the front and six showcasing the coordinating plaid pattern on the reverse. I love when one sheet provides everything needed for a complete design!
To pull it all together, I created a little “nest” with the Peaceful Pine plaid, then framed the three illustrated squares twice to help them stand out as the stars of the card.
Here’s a look at the beautiful colors and patterns in the A Stitched Season Designer Series Paper:
The adorable present, bird and quilt blocks all came from this festive page of stitched designs. And can we take a moment to appreciate that gorgeous plaid on the reverse? It might be my favorite side of the sheet!
I mounted the nine squares onto a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Peaceful Pine Two-Tone Cardstock, using the lighter side of the cardstock as the frame. The completed panel is then mounted onto a Peaceful Pine card base. The combination of patterns, texture and color makes this card feel warm, cozy and wonderfully Christmas-y.
To finish the card, I added a sentiment from the Stitched Stocking stamp set and accented it with three White Pearls of Beauty. Simple, sweet and festive!
A Perfect Christmas Color Combo
Since this is our first Christmas season with the gorgeous Peaceful Pine, I thought it would be fun to highlight the color combination from today’s card. I have a feeling this rich green is going to become a holiday favorite (it already has for me!), and it pairs beautifully with classic reds and crisp white.
It’s timeless, elegant and one I’ll definitely be reaching for again and again this holiday season.
Last Thoughts
One of my favorite things about Designer Series Paper is discovering just how much versatility can be tucked into a single sheet. This card is a great reminder that you don’t need complicated techniques or lots of products to create something special. Sometimes a simple grid of beautiful paper is all it takes.
If you aren’t sure what to do with these pages, just start cutting and let the design take its own path. You might be surprised where it leads!

Hi Brian
This is an adorable Christmas card and it would be easy to make multiples.
I love how you made the plaid background and hilighted the 3 main squares with layers! I will be Casing your card for certain!
A great idea for several friends getting together to make cards! No fuss, no mess, and lots of fun! Love it Brian!
I love your pretty card, Brian. I got that paper in my last order and am looking forward to making some easy, fun cards. Enjoy your day!
Fantastic use of the paper!
Fun fun card. It’s amazing how bright the tiles become on their own with a bit of backing. Clever use of the reverse side to create a bit of interest. This is one of those collections that make it difficult to decide which side of the paper to use.
