Can’t Thank You Enough

It’s been such a busy week that I almost forgot to share the cute little tags I made to accompany the Product Shares and Designer Series Paper Swatch Books I mailed out earlier this month. I thought we’d take a quick break from cards to enjoy these sweet little tags. They’re simple, they’re cheerful, and they just happen to spotlight a couple of new products that might deserve a spot on your wish list.

Here’s the first tag I’m excited to share with you today:

Did you spot the difference? If not, don’t worry—you don’t have to scroll back up. Here they are side by side:

Do you have a favorite?

Each tag measures 2-1/8″ x 1-7/16″, the size for the Rounded Rectangle Punch. I started with a Thick Basic White base, then used the edge of the punch to create a 5/8″ strip of the striped Designer Series Paper. A narrow 1/8″ strip of Fresh Freesia frames the paper beautifully and creates just enough space to stamp the sentiment from the Banner Sayings stamp set and sign each tag.

Even though these were designed as tags, I think the layout would make a fantastic card front, too. You’d probably want to swap in a larger sentiment or add a small focal point—maybe a flower or another stamped image—but the clean, modern design does most of the work for you.

The Exciting Times Bundle includes both the stamp set I’ve been reaching for again and again and the Rounded Rectangle Punch:

This bundle may need to stay on your wish list for just a little while longer, though. It’s currently on backorder and is expected to return to stock around this time next month.

You may not have immediately recognized the striped paper running down the side of each tag (although I know some of you have eagle eyes!), but it comes from the Spooktacular 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Even though it’s a Halloween-themed collection, it’s filled with patterns like this that work far beyond spooky season.

Here’s a look at all the fun designs in the Spooktacular 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:

I had planned to finish these tags with a little sparkle—maybe a rhinestone, maybe a pearl. Once they were assembled, I snapped the photos and tucked them into a basket to await shipment with the shares. It wasn’t until I was packing the orders that I realized I’d never added the bling. Was it planned? Yes. Was it needed? I don’t think so.

Last Thoughts

I love discovering patterns in Designer Series Papers that can live completely separate lives from the collection they came from. A Halloween pack doesn’t have to make Halloween cards, and a Christmas paper doesn’t always have to stay Christmas. Sometimes all it takes is cutting out a small strip or turning a pattern on its side to see something entirely new.

These little tags are a great reminder that inspiration often comes from looking at your supplies a little differently.

  1. Hi Brian
Both versions of your awesome tag are modern and creative!
I was the lucky recipient of the thicker black lines.
I agree with you that bling was not necessary perhaps because it mains a crisp , clean , modern look!
