More Color Combinations from Coffee Break Designer Series Paper

On Thursday I shared a simple card with the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper, a pack of 12″ x 12″ printed papers with a fantastic mix of fun and gorgeous patterns.  You can see that post here.  I love the mix of retro and soft images in these papers – great patterns for coffee or a card not related to coffee.  I often pull my colors right from the papers as a starter, so I want to talk a little about this super-popular Coffee Break Designer Series paper.  After all, that’s a huge benefit of our printed papers – they are designed with the gorgeous shades in our color families.

Here’s a look at this pack of papers, which includes twelve 12″ x 12″ sheets (2 each of 6 double-sided designs):

The pack of papers includes Early Espresso, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Soft Suede and Whisper White. What a brilliant collection of colors!  No wonder I’ve reached for this paper over and over!  Here are a few of the cards I’ve shared with the diverse patterns and colors in this pack of papers (you can click on any of the pictures to see my original post about each card):

Today I’m going to share a couple more suggestions for pulling these colors right from the patterns in the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper.

Straight from the Papers

These colors are combined from the colors exclusively in this stack of papers:

Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Early Espresso, Soft Sky, Whisper White Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green, Early Espresso Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky

Combined with Other Colors

By adding one other color to the shades in these patterns, you can really transform the feel of the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper.  Here are some color combinations starters that feature two colors from this stack and one color from outside the stack:

Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Soft Sky, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Soft Sky, Peekaboo Peach, Soft Suede

By limiting the colors you’ll use in a project (or expanding the colors to those outside a pack of papers), we can really find some beautiful color combinations for our projects.  I hope you find this helpful, I and I hope some of these combinations inspire you.  Please save any (or all of these) to Pinterest for future reference.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hey Sonny, I can’t resist since we lived in Houston for 16 years coming from Iowa. If you have been in foreign countries – you will feel right at home in Texas! Just kidding everyone – it was really different but we made some of the best friends while living there. We did not go out to west Texas though we went to Austin, San Antonio, Galveston, Dallas etc.

I agree these colors are so very pretty and softer! Brian, I have to admit that Thailand is not on my list, but how exciting that it IS on your list and that you are going! I’d like to go to Ireland with my husband. He has NEVER been and I was there 50 (shocking!) years ago.
Eager to hear about your trip upon your return!

  8. I always like to see your color combinations – some of them I would never think of – please keep sharing. I want to go to Hawaii

Love your coffee card. Oh pooh, I forgot to order the coffee suite paper for the sympathy cards. I do have my shares piece though and my stamps came this week so I am ready to make more sympathy cards – I have had a run on them. Let’s hope I don’t have to make any for awhile though.

Have a great trip, stay safe and have a lot of tun. I thought of another place I want to go that I have never been, Montana to see and meet Ginger and see all the places she tells me about!

  10. The Coffee Cafe suite is my favorite! You have showcased the colors so well here. Would love to sip and espresso in Italy someday…
