Good Friends & Great Adventures

On Sunday I shared stories and pictures from my super-fun morning outing with Candy Ford and Julie DiMatteo, my InKing Royalty team members who earned Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Incentive Trip to Greece. To recognize these amazing ladies, I took them out this weekend for massages and a delightful lunch. If you missed that post, you can see it here.

While the day was all about treating Candy and Julie to a fun experience, I also made a card for my trip-achieving friends – and that’s what I’m sharing with you today. Here’s the card I made for Candy and Julie:

Silhouette Scenes, Wild Rose Dies, See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingDon’t worry! I made two of this card – they each received one so they won’t have to share joint ownership of this beauty. 🙂

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Inspiration. Want to guess what inspired the colors and movement on this card? With our upcoming trip, it was really easy! Here’s the graphic for this year’s Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip to the Greek Isles:Greece is known for its brilliant blues, so this background of blue waves was a perfect starting point! I used the same page of paper for a card I shared a couple of weeks ago where this paper symbolized the sky (you can click on the picture to read more about this card):Silhouette Scenes, See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Silhouettes. My card doesn’t feature any of the amazing images or dies in the Silhouette Scenes Bundle (which is a must-have), but I did grab my sentiment from this amazing set:Silhouette Scenes Bundle, Stampin' Up! 151058“Life was meant for good friends and great adventures.” Could there be a more perfect sentiment to express my gratitude to these friends who are heading out on an amazing adventure together? Here’s a look at the incredible colors and patterns in the See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper:  See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 2019 Annual Catalog, 149443
  • Framed! The sentiment from Silhouette Scenes is cropped with an oval die from the Stitched Shapes Dies and framed with another oval from the Layering Oval Framelits Dies. The two of them are then layered on this gorgeous, stitched shape from the Wild Rose Dies (part of the To a Wild Rose Bundle). Such a beauty! Here’s a look at the To a Wild Rose Bundle:To a Wild Rose Bundle, Stampin' Up!, 151073The Night of Navy frame around the oval sentiment mimics the Night of Navy frame around the Designer Series Paper panel on my card.  I love to build frames with similar widths to build symmetry on a card.Silhouette Scenes, Wild Rose Dies, See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
