Brian’s Week in Review: July 12, 2026

Brian's Week in ReviewWelcome to my Week in Review!

Every Sunday, I love taking a few minutes to look back at the projects, moments and little highlights from the week – perfect for those who don’t follow along every day and a fun behind-the-scenes peek for those who do. And yes…there are always a few extras tucked in here just for you. ♥

Family Time

Last Sunday, Jeremiah and I met his family at Lake Lanier to celebrate Chelsea’s birthday. Here’s the thing – it was really, really hot. And, of course, we were seated on the patio for lunch. By the time we finished eating, we’d all spent plenty of time baking in the Georgia sunshine.

After lunch, Ivy wanted to visit all the fish, frogs, turtles and ducks along the lake. More time in the sun. 🙂 Here’s a picture of the family gathered on a giant Adirondack chair near the water’s edge.

family at the lake when it's really, really hotWe were there to celebrate Chelsea’s birthday, and Jeremiah’s mom had made a homemade birthday cake. Unfortunately, as she was carefully carrying it inside, the cake carrier flipped completely upside down before falling to the ground. She quickly turned it back over…

The presentation may not have earned any points, but the cake was absolutely delicious. ♥

Mom arrived the next day, and we’ve stayed busy ever since. I don’t have any pictures to share just yet, but I promise I’ll have some soon!

Back to My Week in Review…

My week of posts was filled with a lot of fun products. Let’s take a look back at the projects I shared with you this week…

Monday

On Monday, I shared the birthday card I made for Chelsea and Jake, complete with a built-in gift card holder.

Tuesday

Tuesday’s simple card combined familiar favorites – Mix & Match Ephemera and the Silly Old Bear Designer Series Paper – with one of my favorite color combinations.

Wednesday

Wednesday was a big day! I finally introduced you to Stampin’ Up!’s brand-new Stampin’ Hot Foil System. Demonstrators had been keeping this launch under wraps for months, so it was exciting to finally share it with you.

Stampin' Hot Foil System, Stampin' Up!, 170009Week-in-Review Bonus:

I warned everyone that these products would sell out quickly…but they’re still available! Here are a few things I haven’t shared before:

  • Every Stampin’ Hot Foil System purchased through the end of 2026 earns my Metallic Magic Craft Class absolutely free – a $30 value filled with techniques to help you get even more from your new system.
  • The Hot Foil System is slightly wider than the retired Big Shot, so it isn’t compatible with that machine. If you’ve been considering upgrading to the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, this might be the perfect opportunity.
  • Stampin’ Up! already has additional foiling products in the works, so this is only the beginning of what’s to come!

Thursday

After introducing the system, I couldn’t wait to put it to work! I used the Garden Silhouette Hot Foil Dies to create this elegant card.

How gorgeous is that silver foil against the Secret Sea background? I’m completely smitten.

Friday

On Friday, I shared another Hot Foil project. This time I reached for the Echoes of Detail Hot Foil Dies and Light Pink Foil to create a completely different look.

I originally added the Light Pink Foil to the Melon Mambo cardstock as an experiment. I wasn’t convinced it would work, but I absolutely love the result! Don’t you think the combination is gorgeous? I finished the card with a butterfly from the Floral Flight Accents for the perfect little touch.

Saturday

Yesterday, I shared the little thank-you tag I created for everyone who received the Super-Awesome Fun Time Card Kits that were mailed last week. Using a small piece of the Scenic Coast 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper, the finished tag looked like a tiny framed work of art.

I had so much fun making these tags and tucking one into each package before they headed out the door. I hope the recipients enjoyed receiving them just as much as I enjoyed creating them – and I’m glad I could share them with you, too.

Week-in-Review Bonus:When Emma and I were designing the projects for our Super-Awesome Fun Time Card Kits featuring the Scenic Coast 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper, we both reached for our favorite patterns right away…except this one. We each found this design a little moody. In the full 6″ x 6″ sheet, the water looks rough and a bit ominous. But when I cropped out this small section, it completely transformed into something peaceful and beautiful. Sometimes all it takes is a different perspective. ♥

Last Thoughts

Another week is in the books, and it was filled with family celebrations, lots of creative time in the Fungeon and one of the most exciting Stampin’ Up! product launches we’ve seen in a long time. I hope you enjoyed looking back through the week’s projects and the little behind-the-scenes moments that made the week special.

Thanks for spending part of your Sunday with me. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead, and I can’t wait to share even more inspiration with you over the next few days!

Thanks for stopping by!

Brian
