Let’s Celebrate for July 4th

Happy July 4th, my friends! In the United States, we are celebrating the annual birthday for our country. It’s a federal holiday, so many of us are enjoying the day off from work today. The long weekend (for some) give us many reasons to cookout with family, relax at home or complete some craft projects we’ve been meaning to make.

Today I’m sharing a sweet-and-simple card I made with some amazing, new products followed by a patriotic parade of cards. Many of these projects feature products that are retired (no longer available for purchase from Stampin’ Up!), but the inspiration for layouts, colors or themes is still there. I hope you enjoy!

Let’s Celebrate

Every July 4th celebration is represented by fireworks, stars and patriotic colors. I combined all three of these in this 3″x 3″ card I made with three new products. Now, I’m no fan of fireworks (especially the kind that can explode in my hand), but I couldn’t help but to turn these little candles into firecrackers:

This card features three new products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2022 Annual Catalog and one new product from the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog – all are pretty wonderful. Here’s a look at these new products (these products are showcased at the base of this post):

  • The firecrackers and stars are cropped with the Sentiment Silhouettes Dies, part of the Charming Sentiments Bundle in Stampin’ Up!’s 2022 Annual Catalog
  • The sentiment is stamped with the Splendid Thoughts stamp set, part of the Splendid Thoughts Bundle, new in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog
  • These images are mounted on a small piece of 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer Paper (Sweet Sorbet)
  • The card base and elements on the card feature Sweet Sorbet 8-1/2″ x 11″ cardstock

For years, we’ve counted on Real Red, Cherry Cobbler and Poppy Parade for our patriotic projects. With the new 2022-2024 In Colors, we now have Sweet Sorbet. Yay! If you like this mix of Basic White, Sweet Sorbet and Pacific Point, please save this for future reference:

Patriotic Themes & Colors

July 4 isn’t the biggest card-giving day of the year, so there’s a reason why there’s not a July 4 section in Stampin’ Up!’s annual catalog. Still, it’s easy to pull together a patriotic card with the products and colors we have. You can click on any of these pictures to see the original post for each.

With so many great colors in Stampin’ Up!’s color families, there are lots of great combinations for the Red, White and Blue. I’ve even added some colors that are great stand-ins for gold and silver. From sophisticated to festive, here are some color combinations that might help you get started:

Color Inspiration - Very Vanilla, Merry Merlot, Night of Navy Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Pool Party, Real Red, Night of Navy Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Real Red If you are inspired by any (or all) of these color combinations, I hope you’ll save them off to reference later.

I hope it’s a great day for you. No matter what you are doing today, I hope your day is wonderful!
