Before I share today’s post, I want to give you a heads-up about a big sale that’s kicking off today. As Stampin’ Up! rolls out the new 2021 Annual Catalog to demonstrators, the company kicks off a Last-Chance Products Sale. Between today and May 3 2021, retiring products from the 2020 Annual Catalog will be offered on a “while supplies last” basis with some great discounts. Please come back this afternoon to check out the sale here.
You already know how much I love Stampin’ Up!’s color families and how excited I get this time of year when the new In Colors are about to roll out. Every year Stampin’ Up! introduces us to a set of five on-trend colors that will stick around for two years. Demonstrators will get our first peek at the 2021-2023 In Colors today (yay!) – I haven’t seen them, but I’m already in love. Here are the five colors that have been a part of our lives for the past two years:
I will admit that it sometimes takes me a couple of months to warm up to some colors – I fall deeply, madly in love with them just as they are retiring. I have loved Seaside Spray and Pretty Peacock, though, from the moment they came into our lives. As Fall came around that first year, Terracotta Tile became a staple color for me. Rococo Rose was never really on my radar until the January – June 2021 Mini Catalog. I’ve loved working with all five, but it’s time to say goodbye.
Today I’m sharing my favorite projects these retiring colors and my favorite color combination with each.
2019-2021 In Colors – All Five
This retiring collection of In Colors work beautifully together, and I’ve had fun combining them on a single project. These three projects feature all five of the 2019-2021 In Colors (you can click on any of these photos to read my original post for each project).
Purple Posy
Purple Posy is about as sweet and soft as a purple can get. Here’s a look at this gorgeous, retiring color:

Seaside Spray
I love the blueness of Seaside Spray. That may sound silly (of course it’s blue), but there’s not a lot of green in this soft blue, making it perfect for Summer or Fall. Here’s a look at this amazing, retiring color:

I’ve used this color A LOT over the past two years. Here’s my favorite color combination with Seaside Spray:
Pretty Peacock
Pretty Peacock is such a warm, friendly blue with gorgeous aqua tones. It’s sophisticated when paired with warm tones and vibrant when paired with bright tones. Here’s a look at this awe-inspiring, retiring color:

Rococo Rose
Rococo Rose is a dusty pink that’s warm and beautiful. I didn’t use Rococo Rose a lot until 6 months ago when it became a must-have in my craft room. Funny how that works! Here’s a look at this beautiful retiring color:

Terracotta Tile
I love the versatility of Terracotta Tile. Not only is it warm for Fall, but it’s also bright for Spring. Here’s a look at this incredible retiring color:

I’m going to miss Pretty Peacock but I’m excited to see the new colors!
I’m with you on that one. Can’t wait for these new colors. 🙂 ♥
Pretty Peacock is the only one I hate to see go. I don’t think I ever even opened Seaside Spray. I look forward to seeing the new colors!
Oh my friend , so sad to see our colors go away, and your cards are all beautiful, you sur know how to use those BEAUITFUL colors,

Frenchie ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you so much, Frenchie! I do love working with these colors and also look forward to the big reveal later today. Yay! Yay! Yay!
What a fabulous email!!! Filled with so much great information and inspiration! Well done!
Thank you so much, Mary! I’m so glad you like it. ♥
You display them beautiful…..these had a good run! Thanks for the color combos.
Thanks, Windy! As much as I love these colors, I’m glad to make room for other newbies. Can’t wait! ♥
I love these cards, Brian! I’m saving them to copy! I, also, LOVE Seaside Spray. The softness of the blue earns the “Spray” part of the name. It is like “a whisper” of blue!
This was a great post! As I was stamping last night, I was trying to remember the colors that were being discontinued. Perfect timing on this one. I absolutely love your daily posts!
Awwww…thank you so much, Debra! I always try to make sure there’s some “meat” in each post – lots to share here. So happy you like it. ♥
Wowzer ! Love your tribute to these colors ! I will miss Seaside Spray !
Such a nice clear blue . Maybe it will be back !
Oh boy , new colors coming !
I can’t wait for the new catalog, Sonny! I love Seaside Spray, too, and hope it returns in later years with a color refresh. That would be amazing. Counting down the minutes until the new catalog…
I’ve become quite attached to Rococo Rose, Terracotta Tile, and Pretty Peacock! Always exciting to see new colors, though. Love these “look back” posts. Somehow I missed your brilliant Inking of You card! Shamelessly went back and commented on that post, lol!
Sorry to bother you as I know this is an older posting, but I would like to know what stamp set you are using in the very first card example in this post. The images are the Stampin’ Up! re-inker bottles on it.
What is the stamp set’s name? Is the stamp set still available?
Thank you for your help.
